How do YOU germinate?

I know most people use paper towl but i mean like how long do you let the tap root get?

I am just wondering i wait until its like 5/16"

Some people just wait til its cracked.. what do you do?

I personally do the following

step1
I soak the seed for around 6hours in plain ph6 water. During this time i prepare my medium which is coco and i use a weak EC0.4 of IONIC FORMULEX

Step2
i remove my seed from soaking and plant it into my medium at around 1/16th of an inch deep and gently cover it with medium and water it in a little.

Step3
I cut the bottom off a clear plastic bottle to use as a humidity dome and place this over my seed

Step4
I place my seed with the humidity dome under a 24w 6400k T5 under an 18 hours on 6 hours off light cycle.

Within 24 hours the taproot is creeping down into the medium and after 48 hours the little seedling usually emerges.
