How do you outdoor growers do it?

Yea I won't skip it if I'm doing outdoor ' what about for indoor tho? Do u guys wash buds after indoor grow ?

just to point out that it wont hurt not washing them, but it's just nice to know your not smokeing junk from the atmosphere. it's just an extra step to get the cleanest bud you can. pride in product.

H2O2 wash/Fresh water wash
Did a wash today with H202 warm water followed by a fresh cold water wash. Here were the results. As we can see the H202 took care of the bulk of the crap from the ash and such. The fresh water rinsed the 1st wash off and offered additional cleaning. But look how clear that second bucket...

Yeah that shit blew my mind when I found out people were out there water curing their weed. Makes sense when you think about it though, totally explains why some outdoor tastes like you're smoking the forest floor and some doesn't. I'm not an outdoor guy so I've never bit the bullet and done it, but I've thought about it. Look into water curing and it might help calm your fears.

Actually, I start washing my bud about a week before I harvest. In the early mornings while there is still dew the plants get a light hosing off and I check for bad stuff.
by the end of the week it's about as clean as it gets. Ugly bud gets removed before harvest.
I don't try to grow big, fat, football or bat size buds. In Oklahoma that can be a BIG loser. Couple of years ago I leased some ground to some growers. They grew giant buds. The kind that really look good. Problem is every one of the big ones had bud rot or mold. You can get away with hosing them with smaller buds if you do it in the morning when the dew is still on. That's a better wash that you get on veges you buy at the store. If it's not going to be a hot day I'll blow them of with a leaf blower.

Don't make the mistake of washing the buds vigorously, do it gently with multiple tubs and take special care drying after. You need to wash right after chopping and pay special attention to drying afterwards or risk getting everything moldy due to not enough circulation. Too much circulation may also dry them too fast.
If there is mold or PM present, the first bath (strongest concentration of h202 to water) you will see fizzing sort of like when you put hydrogen peroxide on a cut to clean it. The next two weaker baths clean it further and then the water only bath rinses the h202 off. You'd be surprised the crap that will come off the buds.
Think about all the airborne dirt, pollen, flies, worms, ash from fires, and other shit that could be on there. Thc isn't water soluble so unless you are murdering the buds during the wash you are fine
If skeptical try it on just a few buds one year and see what's left in the water (also helps take residual pesticides /herbicides off) and decide tor yourself
I wouldn't be surprised if it took away some terpenes though (like water curing)

It's a no brainer for outdoor grows where I live. Bug and bird shit on my medicine is not what I'm going for. Do a search for the Doc Buds Bud washing thread and his method is great. Kills any residual mold spores before you get into the drying room. I just ran a fan on mine while letting them drip dry after the wash. Then once the water on the surface is gone just dry as normal. If you do foliar feeding indoors I'd recommend it as well.

Good video on bud washing below. As Thumper said, you can skip the second step with straight water. H202 breaks down very quickly, leaves no residue and is harmless. Because of this, you will want to use your bud wash within 30 minutes or so as it will become ineffective and you will need to mix a new batch. Make sure you use fresh H202 as it has a short shelf life after the bottle is opened.
