how do you transplant out of a party cup?

Wait until it dries up pretty good, flip the cup upside down and give the sides a gentle squeeze. The whole rootball will come out intact. Don't pull the plant out by the stem. Good luck.

or if it wont come out, poke 4 holes in the sides of the cup and just cut up each one gently with scissors, its how i do it if they wont come out after i squeeze the cups.

i like to use a razor blade go 1/4 inch inyo the cup . on both sides of the cup allthe way down untill its split in twain . then i get my big pot fill it with soil 3/4 or close to . then put a clean party cup on top the new soil , with the top 1-2 inches below the top of the new pot . I use 5 gal . and fill around cup . lastly open the cup with plant in it like a clam shell . tip upside down holding firmly . remove the place holder and drop plant in the hole , add an inch or 2 of soil and gently pat the surface , i dont like to compact it . burying an inch or so of the old stalk . ( if the cup was rootbound the razor will have freed up some shoots to expand into the new soil if not your good to go .) you can also add sand , or gravel , on top to prevent critters . i leave it soil water lightly with normal phd water , as the soil settles you can always add more . (ps . id drill 10-20 random holes in sides and bottom ahead of time ) to help drain excess water and give a bit better soil airaetion . hope it helps . sorry to over complicte a simple x-fer just wut i do ^^
