how do you trim?

this is my first grow and i snipped a tiny bud and dried it (i know its way early) and i dont know what to snip off all the leafs or is it just personal choice?
Ive smoked my fair share of pot but never paid attention to what exactly was on it

yea, pretty much cut off any leaf matter. For PRIME smoke, you want only bud!

snip all the leaves off the day you harvest.

Somewhere I read in some instructions for drying that the fan leaves will droop over the bud when they are hung - my fan leaves are long gone. I'm curious if some people leave the fans on???

Some say cut and hang the plant whole to let it dry, but that takes time. Some cut off the fan leaves at harvest and then hang to dry and manicure later. Personally, I just trim and manicure at harvest, then hang to dry, and into jars.

I trim upon harvest.....taking off anything with a "stalk"....

i like to trim and dry at harvest too. im picky on what leaves i'll trim off tho... If its a tiny, trichromed laiden leaf, thats hard to reach, i'll leave it

Hey in my opinion why would you cut off the small crystal covered leaves ? im talking about the ones that are about a 1/4 inch long and curling into the bud covered with snow!!not me i cut off as the one post say's everything i can see that has a stalk fans and bigger stalk leaves but never the short ice covered babies why just to smoke later as hash? dont make sence to me ive had no problem with taste at all....nor harshness!Peace
