How does Medical Marijuana Treat Anxiety

ANXIETY AND OTHER SOCIAL DISORDERS

There is more to anxiety than just temporary worries or fear. A person suffering from an anxiety disorder will experience constant fear that doesn’t go away and deteriorates over time. This affects daily activities of such a person, including job performance, relationships, and being in public.

Although anxiety can be linked with different conditions, such as depression, alcoholism, or a dire experience in the past, it’ worth to get a physical evaluation in order to check if the anxiety is not paired with a physical illness.

Pharmaceutical drugs only mask the symptoms of anxiety and after giving up on pills, a patient may enter the vicious circle, being unable to function without the medicine. Hopefully, many people suffering from anxiety disorders have found relief in using medical marijuana. They claim

that cannabis decreases anxiety levels. Despite not being researched so well in this particular illness, marijuana shows a huge promise for further treatment methods.

You have to be careful with this one. I have personal experience dealing with a patient like this.

The pot can do the same thing to the patient as the pharmaceuticals can. Once they rely on the meds the whole thing can can get worse the same way. Take the high away. Manic behavior lies underneath. Or worse the constant getting high can exaggerate the feelings of anxiety as it is a mood enhancing effect as well as a buzz.

I don’t have the links but when I did research on this there are instances of borderline patients going schizophrenic from continued heavy use.

It is one of the only credible warnings about our beloved flowers.

I know there are strains that can actual lend to higher levels of anxiety so you have to be careful as Mmg says. I’m a bit leary of some of the medical claims associated with pot, way more research is needed and until then we should proceed with a bit of caution. I’m getting ready to talk to my doctor about getting a script actually as it does help with the effects of cutting my pain meds, I’ve cut them in half the last two months after 12 long years :(. I’m hoping to spend some time in Bermuda and hopefully this will allow me to travel there with a small amount ;(.

Good luck with lowering those pills bud.

My best friend is a psychologist and confirms some patients can’t deal with pot and get much worse. It is a mind altering substance. Not always good for an already confused feeling condition. And strong high line sativa heavy plants like real sour diesel can cause healthy people to freak out so......

I broke my shoulder mountain biking this past weekend and am on oxycodone for the first time since oral surgery like 8 years ago and my stomach feels so burned and sick in 3 days of a minimal dose I just switched to I Ibuprophin and our edibles for relief.

The sickly feeling of opiates is awful to me.

After 12 years they’ve become needed as opposed to helping :(. When I was prescribed them my first question was “are they addictive”, my doctor basically said nope lol, fucking moron :(. Thanks for the encouragement and yup I’m lucky that I’ve never taken more than prescribed and slowly reduced the amount, had to ask lol, unlike lots I know who have lost everything. Every time I raise concerns he would say don’t worry you’ll be on them for life anyways :(.

Good old pharmaceutical business propagating doctors. If you don’t need their signature they are out of a job.

Well at the time pain pills seemed like an excellent ideal after falling 25’ off of a ladder and down a flight of stairs lol. I was off work for two years and pretty much bed ridden for 3 months, the guy that really fuck me was a chiropractor who fractured a vertebrae that was out of place doing rehab :(.
Edit: my boss was supposedly holding the ladder ya moron :(.

Yikes

CBN and CBD (I M O) help tremendously with Anxiety. The higher the THC content, the more prominent my anxiety becomes. If I roll up a Gram J.. I put in a half gram of higher thc @ 22% and a half gram of CBD strain 14% cbd and it is IDEAL for me.

Most strains give a fuller more balanced effect if just actually left long enough to ripen.

Cutting early can be the problem.
Yessir! Early chopping can give you that anxious almost speedy high. You are right about a nice balance when the plants are matured, but it depends on the genetic make up of that plant too. Different strains heal different pains

I enjoy a much more calming effect from edible ingestion, rather than smoking. Hard candy or infused Veggie glycerine.
Dose not seem to really matter what strain it is for me either, if I take a puff, brain immediately begins doing cartwheels....it goes away after several minuets, kinda levels off. Bizarre anxiety shit too, like start worrying about bills that I've already paid...?!
That being said, I very, VERY seldom, take a puff.

If you are able, get a tincture of pure CBD oil. If your brain starts going crazy, you can dose pure cbd and It should immediately relax you. At least in my case it helps! I get super paranoid for no reason if I take like... 1 too many puffs.

Theres a company called war fighter hemp based in CO. I love their product they ship all over US.

Ratios around 50:50 of THC/CBD work wonders for me. Trust me - I know anxiety, and I'm finding that these high CBD strains that are at least 50:50 are exactly what I had always dreamed of. Too much THC and I get anxiety attacks.

I'll go so far as to say that super high CBD strains are the future of cannabis. What needs to happen is a continuation of improvement in terpene profiles and other aspects of their genetics.

I use cannabis for anxiety - have been for about 20 years. It works well once my THC resistance is up. I've never had a strain that's not worked for me. As a matter of fact, I'm feeling a little anxious right now. Time to roll one up.

Lucky. Even if I smoke a quarter a day of high thc bud, I will feel anxiety, which sucks because I love the psychoactive effect of thc. Looks like i’ll be smoking salads!

I was pretty beat by my life half a year ago. I missed very big clients at my work and got fired for that. Each day started almost with suicidal thoughts. Finally, I consulted my doc and he prescribed CBD oil for anxiety. At first, I didn't believe it was legal but it turned out that many people fight their mental disorders this way. The results were surprising - it took me three months to get much better.
