How does Rep work

How does the reputation work on this site? Are some rep worth more than others? Also i have one rep that is gray instead of all the rest that are green, what does that mean? Thanks

its just a token of your appreciation for good/imformative posts. the grey ones are from people with not alot of reputation. your bar gets bigger with the more rep you get as well as your "status". the likes have seem to taken over however

when you rep someone, you leave them i think it's ten percent of your total rep, so the more rep the person has who's doing the repping, the more rep the person he reps will get..
not sure about the gray one though, new to me...

I think the GREY one is where someone doesnt have enough posts to give you rep, once they hit (i think) 50 posts the rep gets added to your REP POINTS

It wasnt meant as a comment on spelling lol i aint that petty, Im pretty well travelled guy and i know all about the differing variations of words.

It was meant just as an emphasis on the colour i was pointing out not BLUE or GREEN but GREY.

Nothing malicious intended.

+Rep is what you advertise when you have a stupid question and need an answer. Rep is not going to make you a better grower, so I guess Its as important as all those lowsy post count.

i think the post count is pretty helpful i personally don't take any advice from any one with less than 775 post lol if you notice its the people with low posts that usually say the dumb shit......................not saying that there arent any people with 1,157 post that arent complete fools but its a good rule of thumb

Agree. I also take into consideration the Join date.
Funny thing is that Im actually on my first grow, and Im following instructions from a guy that had 1 post. Yeah, he actually made his first post when he answered my questions about nutrients and flushing. I think his user name was growersbook.com or something like that.

yah, i don't think post count has shit to do with knowledge.. just because someone has just joined this site a week ago, it doesn't mean that they couldn't have been growing for decades, it just means that they are new to this site, nothing more, nothing less..
while yes, i have seen a lot of low post count people talking nonsense, i have seen some people with huge post counts that you could tell never grew a tomato plant, let alone marijuana... they tend to hang out in the sections like smoke and toke or the politics section, and never want to have anything at all to do with the grow section of the site, which always makes me wonder wtf they are doing on a forum that is mostly about growing bud, lol..
