How does the AG pump get its power.

Been thinking about taking the AG grow deck and installing it on one of those huge Tupperware containers. But I can figure out how to power that little pump. Would it work with just airstones like in a DWC?

assasinofyouth420: Probably yes and no. Why you'd want to do that I don't know but the pump is powered through the arm/light stand that supports the hood. The planting deck sits securely on the reservoir and the terminals of the pump make contact with two copper strips on the front of the arm/light stand when you install it back on the base. It's really a pretty ingenious set up if you think about it. How are you going to power it on your Tupper Wear bowl? I'm pretty sure it's running on reduced current coming from the controller at the base.

The " Y " fitting from a hydrofarm drip ring will fit in place of the pump. Exact fit. It will push water, and circulate just like it does with the drip ring thingie. Screw AG's pump. The " Y " thingy allows for adjusting the flow too...

I am not currently using it. But I happen to have one. I prefer air powering the drip system. There is no pump to replace, ever. And if you want to adjust the flow without taking the whole thing apart, or turn it off for a while... you can do that by simply adjusting the airflow. Plus you get more aeration action in the tiny reservoir.
