How high are you, really low?

5' 6" here.

Most people tend to judge other people (mostly strangers, I guess) based on their height. Sometimes I wonder why that is, and why the opinion tends to go away when you get to know someone you didn't know before.

I suppose, too, that the internet alters this perception of first impressions.

I'm 6'1, and the shortest dude in my family. My brother is 6'3 and my dad was 6'4. My last wife was 5'9, and the women on her side are a bunch of Amazons, her older sister being 5'11. My boy is 15 yo and is a little over 6'2 and climbing. It is a weird thing for your kid to be taller than you, but it doesn't in any way change the dynamics of the relationship (at least ime). I think human evolution plays a large role in the way people tend to feel about height, as the alphas are usually the largest, tallest males. It's automatic. But, as you say, we tend to feel differently after getting to know the person. I've known short dudes that were scary and very powerful, and tall dudes that were meek and mousy once you got to know them. It seems personality plays a larger role in humans, but of course you have to get to know people for that to kick in. Have a great day, shorty ;)

6'4" and for my generation (I'm 55) I felt like a giraffe for a long time. I agree that in general taller people tend to get preferential treatment, studies have backed that up. Not fair but that's the human race/life I guess.
Dad? Is that you???

I used to be 5'10... last time I had a physical nurse said I was 5'9...she insists people shrink later in life.

I never judged woman by how tall they were...

I find I judge men by age more than heighth these days, as in have you been around long enough to be experienced?

Good point. Disclaimer: I haven't measured my height in many years, just going by the Driver's license. And I'm old now

I'm 5'4" (dammit I AM!), no with my spinal fx I've lost an easy inch but I won't admit it and you can't make me! Yes we lose height with age, even more with trauma. With women it's our weight, 145.
