How hot does your aircooled reflector get?

Curious to see how hot peoples air cooled reflectors get. I have 2 600W ELD air cooled hoods cooled by a 4 inch vortex i think it runs at 175 CFM.

Both hoods stay pretty cool under the glass i can hold my hand 1 inch under the glass no problem. The sides get a bit hot but i can keep my hand on them. The top of the second hood i can keep my hand on for 2-3 seconds before it gets to hot. The exhaust after the second light is warm but not hot by any means.

Sound like its running cool enough on the second hood?

Mine stays cool as a cucumber but I am using a 450 cfm fan.

I have a 400whps cooltube with 6" ducting powered by a $5 desktopfan. I can keep my fingers on the glass right under the bulb and it doesn't get very hot.

The 6" v.s 4" ducting may play a roll in this as a $5 target fan can't be too powerful.

Cosign on that; one 1000HPS with a 425CFM fan doesn't get hot at all (not cool to the touch, but I can hold my hand anywhere on it for as long as I'd like).

Exhaust comes out warmer then room temp but not hot.

i use a PLC to control my grow room... i have a thermocouple on the top of the exhaust from my 2nd light... with 2KW and approx 260 CFM fan with 6" duct, it would get to 109F... i had an alarm set at 130F to turn the lights off... i've since changed to 2x 600w and they are usually below 100F.

Yeah, 260CFM for two 1Ks ain't cutting it - already planning out my next tent, gonna be two 1Ks being cooled by an 8" 750CFM.

Hoping that'll do it, but we'll see.

Same here. I'm using a 6" Vortex with 6" ducting ran through two 600w HPSs. My reflectors are actually cool to the touch. I'm also using air from my garage (which is around 10*C or 50*F) to cool the lights.
