Proper ventilation is very important. Without proper ventilation the leaves will grow slowly or even die. Movement of the air during cannabis cultivation gets rid of toxins and poisons. Movement of the air keeps the temperature from getting too hot. Make the inlet near the bottom of the room and twice as big as the outlet located near the top of the room.

also The more plants you have in one room, the more important good ventilation becomes. plants breath through their leaves

if your not making a venting system make sure you put a small fan near bottom of grow pointing in and a small fan at top pointing out that way you have a clean flow of air and have it be somewhat indirect air as well...(not blowing directly on the leaves and plants) just circulating the air.

your plants need c02, and to keep them supplied with it you need intake vents and air extraction if they haven't got that they will die

if a fan is blowing the leaves it strengthens the stems, it also so keep the leaves supplied with fresh c02

yes but your misunderstanding me you need to blow it on the plants but not directly in front of the plant an inch away blowing directly on it is what im getting at here..if the fan is oscilating then that is not directly blowing on it at all time it might be ok but i beleive this is also going to be a personal opinion thing..in my experience i have had good experience with the above mentioned.

This members advice is correct, the advice you got to not let the fan blow directly on the leaves is not correct.

There are many benifits to having a fan blow directly on the plants,as allready stated it strengthens the stalks so the buds wont pull the plant down, fresh co2 across the leaf surfaces is another benifit allready reported.

Other major benifits include spider mite control ,mites as well with other aphids do not like windy conditions, mites live on the bottom of leaves & if the conditions are too windy they cant get a foot hold to attach to the plant & they die out.

Mold control is another huge benifit to constant air flow directly on the plant, fresh air is second to ozone in its ability to fight mold, its hard for mold to grow in areas where there is a conatant flow of fresh air.

In tight areas with restricted air flow " your closet " a single mold spore can wipe out the entire harvest,if a spore lodges itself within a bud new pistils & calyxs form around the spore, since there is no fresh air blowing over the mold spore it can be encased inbetween new bud growth, then you have bud rott which is like a greyish blue puss like substance that ruins all it touches.

The best defense against pests & mold is fresh air,as well as stimulating the plant to build thicker stalks.

In my grows i try to have all leafs blowing in the air flow at all times.

i posted this link which says that exact thing if you read it. and im not disagreeing that you should have an oscilating fan blowing on your plants im just sayingthat this is indirect imo and you should not place the fan directly in front of it and not move it at all.i have done plenty of research and not everyone agrees exactly on this. so if you blow your fan directly on your plants more power to you and your plants if it works it works..in my experience my fan leave have wilted and turned ugly as hell. but far be it for me to force my opinion on anyone i was giving an opinion but i stated indirectly the same thing you said i clarified my first post in the next three but maybe im being too vague.

i have two fans in my small room one near the bottom of my plants blowing the bottoms around and one at the top cooling it off and blowing the top half around.there just not directly mid level blowing directly on them plant..either way im not trying to argue im just trying to clarify what i said.

I grew in an open closet for quite a while. The 'door' was a thick blanket, and there weren't always fans blowing air directly on the plants. They didn't die from lack of carbon dioxide or anything having to do with air flow... they died when I chopped them. You could have all the fans in the world in a totally sealed up grow room but eventually they'll just be moving around stagnant air. There has to be some kind of air exchange going on, and thankfully most people don't live in air-tight construction. Passive venting can\will most likely result in sufficient air flow and leaf movement (for a couple plants, certainly). Fans are good, though.

Air exchange is very important. Your plants may not die without it, provided there is a minimal amount of fresh air getting in every so often, but they will never reach their full potential as far as yield or health is concerned. Plants need co2 to grow, and unless you are directly supplying it, you need to give them fresh air in order for them to extract the ambient co2 that exists in it. They will use up the available co2 in a room quickly, so it should be replaced regularly, hence extraction.

Proper extraction will also help control excess heat and humidity, both of which can cause problems.
