How long can you keep taking clones from a mother plant??

She shouldn't flower with 18 hours of light, unless it's an auto flowering strain. What I've been wondering is; If you take a clone of a clone of a clone... etc will it eventually weaken the strain?

You can take clones from a mom forever if you treat her right. 18 on 6 off she thinks it's the endless summer. As mentioned above auto flower is just that so you mom turns into flowing in 18 months no mater what. I find they get to tall, so I clone and grow a few new moms.

im no expert on this but like sickstoner said its the same genetics and as for ur mother plant i know of people having the same mother for years , just leave it on 18/6 or 24/0 ( unless its an autoflowering strain) it'll always give u clones.

how often do you grow new moms? how many times do you take clones before she's done or:confused: ready to be flowered?

You could grow them as often as needed and could continue to take clones from the mom as long as the mom stays in the veg cycle (18/6) and is alive. I don't keep a mom, I just take cuttings from the bottom of the plant just before I stick it into the flower cycle. I keep my plants in veg (approx 4 weeks) take 2-3 cuttings from each plant and then put the plants into the flower room. My cuttings take 1-2 weeks to root. Once rooted I transplant them into pots and let them veg. I harvest 3 plants every 6 weeks or so (the time could be cut down but the strains I grow take longer to finish). Perpetual grow, no mom needed. Good Luck. :peace: OUT!

I have most or my mom's for 6 to 8 months and then I flower them off. I take as many as she will give up. I only cut new growth that will alow me to leave a couple nodes ffor new growth to happen. I can take 30 to 40 from a 6 foot mom. I try to take 10 to 15 per mom so as to limit the stress on them.

WTF!? Auto's are done in like 10 weeks from seed, not 18 months.

I think he was saying they would flower some time before 18 months even with the lights on 18 to 24 hrs, not 18 months till flowering.
Ive just put my mother plant into flower...been in about a week so i could determine the sex.....

Ive taken a clone of the mother plant, and have left the BIG mother plant to flower :)

I know this clone was taken from the plant in flower, but by leaving it in 24hr light should revert it back to vegative state??

I didnt want to keep the mom as a clone donor as she is 1 metre tall and about half that in width....nice big crop im hoping :p

So i suppose all i do now is sit back let the mother flower, and in the meantime get the clone to a decent size to do the same again....if thats possible, if not il keep this clone for a mother plant :)
