im making seeds. My make plant started to flower

Just wondering how long does a plant produce viable pollen? Do I have only a certain amount of days I can harvest the pollen?

my males pods just started to open up the other day

this morning I did a lil shake to test and saw some pollen sprinkle down.

im assuming it’s good to go.

just keep an eye on them. Different strains may do things on different timelines. No more than a few weeks from the sight of male parts I can imagine.

110% male

Edit: I hope you’ve considered any other nearby growers with pollinating outside. That stuff travels & could seed up someone else’s crop.
I wanted to harvest it manually because of that and for future breedings

I know for sure my surrounding neighbors don’t have plants but not sure about the whole block

Looking into my best options for long term storage and harvesting methods

trying to do this as safe as possible

When I want pollen I chop the male at ripe stage and shake over a large glass sliding door or mirror gather it up and store in flour or corn starch in the freezer
Plenty of ways to skin a cat

I’ve seen a buddy use a window screen to lay them on when dry to sift the plant material & it landed on a huge mirror. Excellent surface to collect on.

Isn't it cumbersome to remove the door and put it back when you collect pollen? That seems like a lot of work. I think the mirror is the better option.
