How long does it take for the seeds to sprout?

My seeds germinated after about 4 days so i planted them in small pots with soil and perlite. It's been 6 days and nothings shot up, its ak 48 strain how long does it normally take? they are 6 plants under a 600watt mh light. Thanks

Btw my title is kinda misleading i dont mean how long does it take for the seeds to germinate i meant how long does it take before i can expect to see the stalk shoot up from the plant after germination ?

I'd say you should have seen it by now if it had already "popped" before you planted it.

I personally don't like planting AFTER the root shows. I soak in water over night and then plant it...before it pops.

I hope they come up...good luck.

How deep in the soil did you put the seeds? It is suggested, and it works well for me, that you put the seeds no more than 1/2 inch deep, and no less than 1/4 inch deep in the soil, and try to put the tap root (the end that first pops out of the germinated seed) pointing downward.

The reason I make this statement is that the deeper the seed is buried, the more time it will take to pop out of the soil, but it should still pop out of the soil even if you buried it an inch deep. I would also suspect that if the tap root were pointing upwards, it might add a bit of time to the whole process.

Make sure the soil isn't too wet. I've had seeds rot and die before breaking the surface in peat pucks because I was keeping them too soaked.

i like to let the taproot get long then burry it to the neck, or were the shell is. the shell should either fall off naturally, or you can carefully remove it useing a toothpic or sewing needle. you may have to remove a clear plastic like shit that may keep the leaves stuck togather, i dont know the proper name for that plastic like shit but you wanna remove it or your plant will die.

I think your talking about the remainder of membrane & if you let the seed
fall off by itself that part should come with it. I've never seen a plant die because of that tho
It usually just pops off the next day. Interesting didn't know that it could die cause if that

I use a micro fiber towel in a dark place, then the peat pucks in peat pots
see.

The peat gives them a great start & makes for a worry free transplant
