it depends on how much room you have. you want to wait till it gets a foot at least. most people shoot for 18 to 24 inches so you will have more bud sites. you can grow it as big as you want but when you put it in flowering its going to double in height it can triple in height depending on the strain. if you want to go big. some people try to stick to indicas so they are shorter plants.

If it is a seedling you need to wait till the branches are uneven on either side of the stalk. Even Branches=too young to Gender. If it is a clone it is equal to 4 months old when you are able to put it in a grow medium and it is strong enough to start its own sprout in the new Medium. Height does not mean anything I can flower these.

hey guys! how long? height wise? thanks!
Depends on how big of a grow space you have. For bigger plants you want to veg for a month and you need 3-5gl pots, if your only planning to veg for one week or straight from 12/12 you could probably do a 10" 1.5gl pot. It also depends if your going to tie down your plants or use any other topping method produces more horizontal growth rather than vertical. When you switch your lights to 12/12 you will have a lot of stretching in the first 2 weeks, up to 2x it original height. So see how much space you are going to grow with and then you can establish how long you can veg for. Because of all these factors it is hard for me to say how tall you should have them before you put them into flowering.

The longer you let a plant veg the better the result. You can veg a plant for as little as a month, to as long as 9 months. The longer you let a plant veg the more it matures and the more your plant will yield. I let my first plant veg for 10 weeks and almost wish I'd waited a couple more. My next plant I'm gonna let veg at least 3 mos. If you wanna smoke now flower sooner. If you can wait you'll get more of a better smoke.
