How long should i wait before germinating?

Hi, i have posted a simillar post not so long ago but i haven't got any answers so i'll make a new one hopeing i'll get a lil more lucky this time..

So here's my story;

I have harvested a few of my plants last month and it was hermaphrodytes (not sure about the spelling bout its weed with seeds in it) so i took a few seeds off the weed, i tried germinating a few with the paper towel method i re-tried 5 times with multiple seeds, niet! nothing will germinate.

Here's the process i tried

put seeds in wet paper towel (dark tiger stripes one's)
keep in dark place
keep warm

i followed these 3 things to perfection, i even tried planting the seed directly in the soil, no result yet :(

So my main question is how long, after harvesting these seeds should i wait before the seed is ready to be germinated? does it need to be dried or something ?

Thanks alot in advance, hopefully i've been clear enough

I had a hermie drop seeds in the bucket it was growing in and they sprouted.... Sometimes a hermies seeds are sterile. Just keep trying, and GL

they will be hermies too......unless you are set on making hash and don't mind getting seedie buds... I wouldn't bother..... I would eat them... high in protein

i used the paper towel method too, but my seed opened up within a day. just try and use some other seeds. good luck.
try this maybe(its close to yours, but this is exactly what i did and it worked):
moisten one paper towel and put it on a plate
place X amount of seeds on the paper
moisten another paper towel and put that on top of the seeds
place papers and plate into a big freezer ziplock bag and close the bag up
place that ziplock bag into a closet or a cabinet
check the bag every 4 hours or so and see what the progress is, and when you do check it, open the bag up for a sec and let some fresh air into the bag, and then reseal it up again and wait some more.
it ought to work just fine for you.
hope this helps some.
