Ok,Im gonna start my grow soon, using a brand new HTG Supply HPS 400 w system..in coco coir/perlite...Ima start under 12/12,and the plants will start and finish in square 6*6 in pots.....a SOG from seed,I guess. The seeds are cheap,shwag..so no point on vegging them out and choosing mothers, right??Anyways,Ima have em' in a room closet, and the temps will def be manageble...so no worries about heat stress or nothing...overall my grow should be good right?Ima line the walls with mylar, and use only 3*3 square feet of floor space to put the plants on.....I have some questuions though.

1.When using organic nutrients such as bloodmeal, manure, guano, fish fert,etc....is it ok to dilute with water, and stre the nutrient mix for as long as you want? Will it "rott"..r is having it "cook"longer better?I read that you cant leave it to late,as it will start rotting with ALOT of bacteria,is this right?I know that the longer you leave it,the more nutrients is available and dissovled in the water.....I once had a gallon of water/bloodmeal sit..and after a week the water itself was opaque...is this good?

So how long should I let a nutrient mix "sit" before using it all or throwing it way and makin a new batch? Thanks!:fire:

When I used to live in the bush,we had a 44gallon drum in the middle of our garden(huge veggi garden half an acre) which we would bring roadkill and other miscellaneous organic waste to and put it in...The drum had a lid which was mostly kept on...and we would add small amounts of water to it occasionally.... That stuff in the drum was like black stinky tar.. it was very hot in the summer but in the winter we would compost vegitable matter around the drum to keep it cooking....
We diluted it rite down,,way down and feed it as a Tea,,,some of our plants were 17ft high... massive.... and the vegis thrived ...thing is as long as it was still "cooking" then the devils tar was X-ellent food .... not everyone has space to do that and we've got to keep it cilvilized and :weed:not stink out our neighbors....but small scale as long as its cooking its good food,,thats just my opinion of course... :leaf:

oh and a good way to judge (most of the time) how strong to make your Tea is think of it as Tea and make a weak cuppa ie..just taint the water with colour....them if your plants are ok with that ,,you can give a tiny bit more next time

Thanks for the replies...makes sense that teas and other organic nutrients and mixes need to "cook"for some time before applying...but is there such thing as cooking it TOO long? Will the mix breed harmful bacteria that can hurt or kill my plants..or harm me in any way?By tea,I mean add 2 tablespoons of alaska fish fert(this shits stinky)..to a gallon of ph'ed water...and then let this "sit"for a few days before adding to plants...

So..my question still stands..What is better,to use and dispose of the nutrient mix,or let it sit for a while, then use...Will it rott or "go bad"?Ima use Alaska Fish Fert 5-1-1

My understanding is that if it is already a fert,, then the manufacturers have done all the "cooking" etc......All you need to do is dilute and feed it to your plants.......
And as for the time limit on sitting the Tea's you make yourself...as long as its cooking its viable....when it stops cooking it no longer has the "good" bacteria etc breaking everything down..so use it then or throw it...wear gloves and dont get it in your mouth, nose etc whatever stage its in.... hope this helps.....but there is a ton of info out there on organic garden Teas :blsmoke:

Ok..so what is the general rule for organic home-made teas? How long is TOO long, before the good bacteria die?2 weeks and under is fine?I know its best to leave this for atleast 3 days before using, since the water "absorbs"more nutrients...it'lll even start turing a certain yellowish color, and wiont be clear.Thats cus the nutrients and bacteria have taken over the water..so how long is TOO long
