How low can you go?

Every grow, I've been inching my 300w LED light closer to my plants during flower. My question is, is there a too close if the plants aren't reacting bad? One of my OG's is stretching up to the light and it's already touching my panel... so if there is no heat stress, light burn, ect... should I keep it 1 inch away? Or is that so close the spectrum of light won't mix and it'll only get that corner of color it's near?

Experienced LED users please chime in.

Well one of the reasons people try to keep the led 18 to 24" is to cover the area they're growing in. Too close and it won't get a good cover. Secondly, LEDs can cause light stress to plants. I own a solar storm 440 and I've seen my plants leaves look bad, canoe up and even top buds turn white from having it about 10-12" from canopy. My wife thought it was cool as hell to have a white bud but she didn't know that that white bud has degraded THC. But if you're not having issues ud say go for it. Btw what led are you using?

Advance platinum p300 in full bloom mode.
I also have it in a 2x2 so coverage should be okay. I was told by the manufacturer that a P300 in my space would be almost overkill, but probably "should be money".

I was gonna get the SF220 but after comparing the two and the pricing, as well as the kind K300, I had to chose the P300.... BUT, when I get a 8x8, I'm getting 3 SS440s. That daisy chain...wooooweee

Its seems like all of the gurus on here are now raving about the white lights. Area 51, apache tech, rapid led etc. I'd look into those as well. When I decide to put a tent in my attic I'll look into area 51. Heard they are one of the two best LEDs on the market. Plus pricing is reasonable.

I did check out the A51 but they only come in 75w and 150w, and I understand that can be powerful with high spectrum output, but still... I was looking for something over 200w

I use a A51 SGS160 (red/white) and one of the 100W all white. in a 4x4 tent. I can comfortably flower 6 plants in 3-5 gallon pots. I keep lights 12-18" from the tops with no problems and good coverage.

My only point of comparison would be some cheap red blue ones I bought and there is no comparison.

I am very happy with my A51. One SGS 160 would be perfect for a 2x2!

Here's what I have going now. Harvest in the next week :-)

Absolutely awesome! What's the deal with the all white though? What would happen if I just put that in a 2x2?
