Can 10 lights be ran in a room with no ac?
I have a 12 " fan but would like to run adusta wings .
And ditch my blockbuster hoods and am curious I it's possible to stay below 80 degrees with 10x600s I would run them at night for the record.
Thanks in advance for any feedback

Depends on the climate. . 10 600's will be hot

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Rollitup mobile app

i would think the size of your room would play a big role. also probably not without ac hoods vented out if u dont have ac. my guestimate is no so far.

mmmmmmmm no (as uncle si would say)

mh bulbs possiblly since they do have a lower IR output.......but hps NO WAY not with 10 not 80 with only a 12 inch box fan
honestly with 10 600w that is alot of power ...............u should change out atleast 5 of them if not more with LEDs..........they are a investment but the engery reduction pays for the offset cost to justify it

a led is weird .......alot of them are about Half the rated light .......like my 300w is a 175w power drawl 1.2 amps .........10 600ws u have to be on several circuts atleast 4 15amps

the main thing to worry about is what lightwaves forumla 6 band 8 10 11 .............the size of the heat sink and power of the fans...........the deflection angle of the glass lens (90 degrees gets u up too 60 inchs of depth ) 120 is good too

So you are saying MH runs cooler than HPS? Where did you gain this useful info? There is no reason for him to change to led. Yes you will need AC. If you are going that big you might as well do a sealed room with C02 in my opinion

Yes but it might get to be over 100 with out a cold air in flow...
And with out a monster exhaust fan/whole house attic fan set to Therm that evac's air when it gets over 78 f or so...

No, it will not stay under 80...
You will need a BIG AC.... or have your grow where ambient air temp is around below 60 f...
then it will still get hot... unless you are blowing hard outside cool ambient air.. inside your room...
AC... IMO only way to go...

My room is 15x15 with 4 1ks. There is no way I could control temp without a big assed ac. I use a 16k btu everyday except on the coldest of days. A room that size full of plants will also have some big humidity swings, a dehumidifier is highly recommended, if not a necessity. I don't think I would be able to control my enviromentals without those....

Ok looks like I will need a 36kbtu ac to run wings,I like the sealed room alot.
Would I still need ac if 10 lights were air cooled?

I have a 7ft x 14ft room. In that space I have 6 x 600 watt HPS. For temperature control I simply turn on my 12" fan attached to my carbon filter. Pumping the hot air out of the roof. At lights off my lowest temp is around 12c during lights on it highs of 24c. Oh and I only use the simple universal hoods. No cooling at all.

Can I ask, is this a legal grow? 6000watts is quite a lot of electricity to consume. Also, when a room that size is in full swing and you are in week 6 of flower, it is going to stink. Big time.

I am running 6x600sin block buster hoods now and am at 80 ,the only way to find out will be to test lights an fan and see what temp I get. Worst case I have to buy an ac.
Thanks for all replys guys

i get this info from the thinking IR infrared red light cuases heat on the skin ........hence it will cause it on the plant

MH .....................info ...........about 40%
HPS.....................info............about 70%

General light info and charts

i figured u wuld call bullshit if u just sawl it writen in a blog so i got the highly detailed reports for u to look at and confirm with own checking

Well I run them both so I know MH runs hotter, but if you read your own link you would see that HPS is more efficient by far than MH, the more efficient a bulb is the cooler it runs because energy is converted to either light or heat. Stick with pimpin leds instead of talkin about hid's

but the temp in the tent from the MH is lower and they can be closer to the plant

it is the IR heat of the HPS that makes u need to keep them higher up (i have had light damage and heat stress from getting to close in last grow)

yes a hps is great it can keep a tent warm and roots happy and alot of stuff..........but if u are doing DWC it is little bit of a bitch untill the plant bushs out to shade the black bucket from aborbing the IR and heating the water

but that guy was talking 10 of them not in cooltubes with no AC ................i gave my best advice and the reason why

at this point i think LED is a better choice for a controlled OP under the radar ..................the power demand for what he was talking is huge (i should know i blowen my own system 2 times replaced the breakers and killed 4 outlets hope not the wire ........and this base is run on 20 amp wire 15 amp breaks ) i had 3 600w 3 booster fans 1 inline 2 fans in the tents humitidier for dry tent and 3 air pumps

the bill has increased 90 bucks ( untill last month now 120) a month but on that plan it is spread out ............. this is 11 months op so far........running the numbers including the heating cost for this winter in that room the bill is looking abnormally high.......as in 7 ppl living in the house when there is only 2 .........true the yeilds and pay off from the work has paided for the system and the bills plus a huge surplus in cash and smoke

but it is starting to look bad for me..................10 600w .........done 100% by the book he is looking at 8000 wats a hour basline no heating no ac.........winter and summer make that 10000w a hour
