How many lights/wattage?

So I downloaded this book - Canabis growing for Dummies. I have almost studied all of it. And I am now working on my growbox plan. My plan is to grow 4 plants in it and I was wondering about wattage. In book it says:

A very rough approximation of the wattage needed for a given number of moderately sized (3-4 ft tall) plants is: 1-2 plants: 250 watts 3-4 plants: 400 watts 5-6 plants: 600 watt 7-10 plants: 1000 watts

Somehow I dont think that one 400w bulb would be okey with 4 plants.

Use Lumens per square foot.
From memory, and I think this is in the "Grow Bible" also. This should get you in the ball park
2000-3000 Lumens sq/ft- minimal plant growth
4000-5000 Lumens sq/ft- good pant growth
6000-7000 Lumens sq/ft- best plant growth

IMO- the more light the better.

so then 4 these should be okey? I think that one per plant should fine then.

Your 400w would be good in the veg. You could veg out a few plants to a decent height with it.

I use a 400w with 4x2ft tall plants.

Last run I switched it slightly due to germination issues and I had 3x2ft tall bushy plants and 4x1.5ft tall single stem clones.

Total yield was 427g dry.

Yield previous to that was 4x2ft tall plants and 439g dry.

So pretty modest harvests once you know what you're doing with them.

I have actually lowered my lights because of those charts.

I guess seeing it was better for me than just hearing it or reading it.

Hold up..a 400 watter at 6 inches is the same as a 1000 at 10 inches? The only difference being the 1000 can cover more area? In terms of yield that's a big difference though lol...but crazy I be growing the same buds as a 1000 just less yield according to the chart. I got the plants right up on the cool tube ..
