How many of you are at work

I was wondering if anyone else is sitting at their desk surfing RUI instead of doing the work they should be doing.

I am. Who else?

well im not sitting at a desk . but i am at work i love my job! what do you do for a living splee?

I'm the General Manager for a service company. The totem pole goes like this..

The owner of the company, then me, and after that is everyone else. I'm the number 2 man here.

I spend most of my day at the office but I occasionaly go into the field to check progress or provide tech support to those that are stumped with a problem.

I love my job too. Lots of freedom, company truck, I get paid wether I'm here or home sick. I get killer bonuses and 3 weeks of vacation along with the typical holidays.

It's going to be in the 60's here tomorrow so I've decided to take the day off and enjoy a 3 day weekend.

In between fucking around here all day I've managed to finalize a $40,000 contract that we'll be starting next week, submitted some new ads for the paper, and set up our springtime inventory. Not a complete waste of a day. But I have totally ignored a large stack of paperwork that's going to demand attention soon.

This is one of those days I should have called in well!

Funny you mention that. Normally every few months someone comes into my office and they're twisting their hat in their hands, looking down at the ground and kicking at the floor with their toe and start whispering about the desire for a raise. I appreciate the hard work our crews put in and I give raises when they're earned. Around here a raise is givin on merit, not length of employment.
But with the economy right now I've not had a conversation about raises since last summer. They all think I'm a staight laced goody two shoes. Sometimes when I go to the shop out back they'll rib me with " Why don't you go out with us this weekend, we'll show you how to party" I just say no thanks.
