8:45 pm 2night and the fire dept. comes down the street house to house wanting to check smoke alarms. i said come back duringthe day mywife is asleep. im not worried one little bit but if your in my rea they are making their rounds checking fire alarms.

is that even legal??? we dont even have smoke detectors/alarms in my house.... none of my neighbors do either....

Never heard of anything like that before. And no, as long as they don't have a warrant, they can't come in. City building inspectors check for those things when new homes are built or added on to, but checking up on people's smoke detectors sounds like more of prank on some rookie fireman to me. Reminds me of a joke they played on a friend of mine who'd just started delivering pizzas back in high school. The pizza maker said he needed him to go to the store and ask for a "dough patch kit" because there was a hole in one he tried to roll out. Nobody thought he'd fall for it, but he did!! He still hasn't lived that one down!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!

You probably don't need one but it is def a good thing to have. Someone on here was talking about their neighbors were killed in a fire recently. Especially if you are growing indoors I'm sure you know that though, you just like being a badass

did they check your neighbors houses too? that shits crazy...

what exactly do they want to check? is it just a smoke detector, 9v battery style?

i would have shit for sure...probably wouldn't have thought to tell them to come back tomorrow either, that was a good call for sure.

with the fire dept your cool they wont be used to bait for cops. they just wanna do fire prevention wich is a requirement by their insurance companies. less fires less insurance claims more money they dont give a fuck they more than likely wont even bring it up maybe a compliment if ne thing

i don't think they will be back. because of my no trespassing sign he said he was skipping by my place to respect everyone with no trespass signs. i was in my front yard when i seen all the lights a flashing and he came up to the fence a talked to me. im really no concernd. i manly posted this to give heads hear if theirs anyone else out therefrom here.

my city does it as a pr stunt a fee times a year. all most always afer a big fire with a child. they stop once each round. if they get privet funding helps old people and poor they will give you a dectore or batts. they just want to install so you don't sell it. if you say you don't have one. also just say i cheched it with the time change and put in new batts.

This is what I would tell them: Thanks guys, but I already checked them. Two were actually out of batteries, but I replaced them with new ones. Thanks anyways.
