how many plants can i flower with a 400w hps and 42w cfls??

what the maxmimum number of plants i can flower with a 400w hps and 6 42w cfls?

i want the plants to get about 3 ft tall at most
 
Assuming that you have the perfect grow area, with the perfect set up, are growing for a quality plant, know exactly what ferts to use, how much and when, will be using the cfl's as side lighting...I would say no more than two.
 
it all depends what you can fit in a about a 3feet by 3feet grow area, i would say that you can deffinatly go with more then 2 especially with the added cfls , i usually grow 4 with a 400w and a 150w hps, and they all produce very well, but it all depends on size of the plants

Do you not think you could get 4 quality plants at 3 foot high under a 400w hps?
 
I hate crowding my plants. My max with 400 watts is three and that is with a good set up.

When I had a 400 watt three did fine but I doubt that this guy has an ideal set up.

I was so happy when I upgraded. Wished I hadn't wasted my money on the smaller light to begin with.
 
I just dink around during the indoor grow time. That is my time to experiment and play. This is the time of year that I am doing my real growing outside. :)

See I just grow enough for me. The tons of extra clones are taken to my compassion center. So for me this is more of a fun hobbie. Tinkler around and share the extra.

Starting to resemble a jungle around here now outside. Watering time does take a looooooong time now. A lot of gallon jugs to ph. :(
 
I keep 28-32 plants un der 3 400 hps lights at 1 time.Depends on your way of growing and setup.Sog indoor will get you more plants especially in and aero or hydro grow.Soil will mean less plants as the buckets take more room.
