How much Foliage Pro to fix nitrogen deficiency during flower please

For the past couple weeks I've been having leaves shrivel and die, first getting yellow and drop off and others doing that plus crinkling to brown and falling off. My current day is week 5 day 2 of flower, for White Widow (fem), in 5 gallon happy frog soil/perlite mix, about 30 - 40 percent perlite. I have FOUR plants in flower, this is my first grow. They are in an open 8x12 room, light free. Temps ave. 67.3/73.3, humidity 53.3/58.7

The plants are about 3 feet tall. I performed LST, fim, and topped. Did some defoliation as well. Light is a 600 watt HPS, air cooled. One large fan on floor with some 6" duct propped behind it, connected to an adjacent room for intake air.

When I switched to flower I transitioned to Bloom formula (dynagro), during veg was using foliage pro. I also use calmag and protekt, with RO water. So, once I noticed I had issues that weren't going away, I did a foliage pro and bloom, but that today I'm still seeing leaf issues. I usually water every three days, but missed yesterday. I'm still getting the same issue with the leaves. So far only bottom and middle leaves are affected.

My last veg feeding was:
5/14:
protekt 6ml
foliage pro 6 ml
calmag plus 12 ml
Total water: 3 gallons

Here's my past feedings during flower:

5/20:
bloom 6ml
protekt 9ml
calmag plus 9 ml
Total water: 3 gallons

5/23:
protekt 11.25ml
calmag plus 11.25ml
Total water: 3.75 gallons

5/26:
bloom 8ml
protekt 12ml
calmag plus 12 ml
Total water: 4 gallons

5/29:
protekt 12ml
calmag plus 16 ml
Total water: 4 gallons

6/1:
bloom 12ml
protekt 12ml
calmag plus 16 ml
Total water: 4 gallons

6/4:
protekt 12ml
calmag plus 16 ml
Total water: 4 gallons

6/7:
bloom 16ml
protekt 12ml
calmag plus 16 ml
Total water: 4 gallons

6/11:
protekt 10.5ml
calmag plus 14 ml
Total water: 3.5 gallons

6/14:
bloom 8ml
protekt 12ml
calmag plus 16 ml
foliage pro 8 ml
Total water: 4 gallons

6/18:
protekt 12ml
organic molasses 12
calmag plus 16 ml
Total water: 4 gallons

I know by the photos for comparison I have a nitrogen deficiency, but I don't know how much to feed to fix it. From readings, this seems to be happening too early. Should I ditch the bloom formula altogether? How much foliage pro should I be giving per gallon? I can't do photos right now, but if needed I can get them in tomorrow, after lights on.

I didn't have these problems during veg. stage.

Thanks for any help!

Gotta hold off on that bloom, infact i wouldn't stop using foliage pro for most of flower. Continue the foliage pro and dont give more p-k unless you see the beginning of p/k def

From 5/20 till now you skimped on nitrogen, the plant used it during stretch and now left you with yellow leaves from lack of N. If this continues you will have no fan leaves half way through flower

Thank you, but how much foliage pro should be given? I was at 2 ml the last veg day, and gave that same amount, plus bloom on the last feeding during flower, but still have the issues.

Pic of the plant? You probably want to continue regular FP feedings with plenty of run-off but i would rather see it first. I dont know how much your plant wants to eat or how far along in flower so i cant give you an answer?

Can't get photo until lights on in a few hours, but it's week 5, day 3 (today) of what's supposed to be an 8 or 9 week flower cycle. Nugs are maybe an inch tall. Will reply back with photos later today.

your plants aren't going to fix the leaves you lost, and the deficiency is going to slow down but not stop altogether.

I don't know where you got your information on your feeding schedule, but i see a few problems. Your main problem is that you shouldn't use bloom from DG in container plants. You should use protekt and foliage pro from seedling to finish. Also, DG provides enough cal and mag, but you probably kept your plant more green using it since it contains N (most calmag does). However, using the correct amount of foliage pro would allow you to drop off the calmag product. I would also cut back on the protekt, shouldn't need very much at this stage.

What's the molasses for? Are you making pancakes?

Why some much cal mag?... You don't need it at all in soil, dyna gro has plenty of calcium and magnesium. If you must use bloom, mix it 50/50 with foliage pro.

Stop with the cal mag plus... When you are feeding more of a supplement then a base nutrient... You gotta stop and think dude... You are pouring tons of not only calcium and magnesium on your plants but also chelated iron.

Flush that soil clear and feed 50/50 foliage pro and bloom, 1ml per gallon of protekt is plenty... Stop with all the cal mag plus.

Healthy plants can be grown to harvest on Just foliage pro alone.

I read calmag is needed if using ro water. Could you share a feeding schedule? I couldn't find much online regarding dyna grow. What I found is basically what I have been using. Seemed ok in veg, so thought it was good information for flower. Obviously not! So 1ml per gallon for protekt, how about foliage pro?

Molasses was added because of the various feeding charts I found stated it was beneficial.

As a general guideline 1ml per liter of dynagro is sufficient. Thats 4ml-5ml per gallon total, don't really need more than 1ml per gallon protect . Thats all you need, no molasses or cha ching Bullshit, just let them grow . molasses has uses in a full organic grow, but not this application.

I suggest you use an EC meter, to better gauge your feeds and keep them around 1.2 EC., some plant will need more or less but that's a good starting point for a mature plant.

Yes you need to add Cal mag to ro water, if you are using JUST ro water, but dynagro has plenty included. In any case you won't ever need 2x the amount of your base nutrients, just think about that for a minute.

I keep postin this, someday it'll catch on lol

You are correct. We market a high P (Liquid Bloom) as some "believe" they need this. As you have noted, our Foliage-Pro does a great job start to finish. However, it is simpler to give the market what they think they need than to try to reeducate it. There is some evidence to believe that low N helps to convince a plant to stop its vegetative growth and move into its reproductive phase (flowering), but environmental factors are probably more important. P is typically 5th or 6th in order of importance of the six macronutrients. There is little scientific justification for higher P formulas, but marketing does come into play for the vast majority of users who lack any real understanding of plant nutritional requirements. Therefore, the market is flooded with a plethora of snake oil products that provide little benefit and can actually do harm. For example, one exhibitor at a hydroponic trade show had a calcium supplement with 2% calcium derived from calcium chloride. Can you guess what continued application of 2% chloride would do to plants?'\
I hope this answers your question and am sorry for Zina's inaccurate response.

Looking back at my veg feeding, that seems closest to what it should have been for flower.

I do have a tds meter, but thought it wouldn't be beneficial until I try out bubbleponics.

Sounds like a pic would help. Look at rm3's post directly from dynagro it's DEAD on. How much green is left on the plant?

A picture would help a bunch, with that many nutes what's your PH and Runoff? With foliage spray I would spray with lights off so the leaves can drink through the stomata. When lights are on sometimes they close up a bit and won't make the most of their feeding. But a photo would help so that we could see where the yellowing is occurring and how frequent it is on the plant. Good luck man.

We are talking about "foliage pro" not foliage feeding. We already know why it's yellowing we just dont know how much FP he needs to prevent further issues.

Got it, I misread everything haha. In that case I have never used that and I am of no use.
