I say use it. FFOF works well IMO. If it weren't for the gnat problem I had with them I'd still use it on occasion.

Once the organic compounds are mineralized they are taken up by the plant in the EXACT same form as synthetic nutrients are. To me, if you're growing indoors in containers it doesn't much matter. Outdoor grows are different. All of the runoff from synthetic nutrients aren't good, but I don't see the big deal indoors.

I'm outdoors...aND if your talking g about the run off from o.f hurting the environment outdoors because it had synthetic properties...why would indoor be any better. ..it's all going outdoors at some point correct....it will do the damage eventually...and trust me ff of's run off wouldn't do anything but help the dirt around it

Yeah, I don't think FFOF would be detrimental outdoors. Not at all. I was speaking of synthetics in general. People (organic purists) get pretty wound up over the use of anything that isn't organic. I prefer to amend my own soil and grow organically...but that's just me. I don't give a single shit what others chose to do.

Well, if you're growing in a living organic soil it has to stay moist. Wet-dry cycles don't work so well if you're relying on microbes to do the heavy lifting.

I've bought more than a few bags of FFOF that had gnats. My local grow shop sells 1.5 cf bags for $10.99. That's the retail price, not a sale. Makes me question the quality of the soil a bit at that price point.

Hell man its like 25 a bag where I ordered from....but I order a lot from this place and since it was a pretty good bit I got it fo more like 10 a bag...although they did fuck up and double charge me and added a mysterious 150 charge ....I better get some free shit lol

Oh there's quite a few, but you learn the credibility of them. Yoda isn't not amongst that group. He just like to post alot and repeat what he sees.
On top of that, he would know that Nitrogen is a highly mobile element. In its molecular form it can be either a cation or an anion. It is used very quickly and it's conversion is almost the easiest to accomplish. Any "synthetic urea" or even the urea that flows from my dick must be broken down first. Alot of growers will add urea to start the Nitrogen cycle in straw bale gardening, which is organic.
Dude just doesn't know enough about the science behind horticulture.

I never freak when I see gnats. It doesn't even bother me. I'm actually happy to see them, it tells me that I have a high populous of fungi in my organic soil. Getting rid of gnats is probably the easiest hurdle any grow will have to face. Azamax, sticky traps and mosquito dunks....And they're all dead in 2 weeks at most.

Yea, i don't freak out when I see them either. They're very easy to get rid of.

Good point though when seeing their presence in a fresh bag of soil.

It would depend on the manure source (if used). Some animals excrete urine within their bowels, and that urea is locked in.
