How much light should new clones have?

I have a small clones bout 3'' tall, I was told to give it 24 hr light, not sure for how long or if this is even correct.

It depends if the clone has a good root structure or not. If it is a fresh cutting you want to give it lots of moisture and light until the roots grow.

Another school of thinking is 24/0 light cycle. I keep my lights on 24/7 right so veg. As do alot of growers. Its up to yourself mate.

yeah man.clones does not need a lot of light.they do even fine if they are on a window-sill.i usually try to keep my cfl-s on 24h, but as said before-its all up to you.i wouldnt recommend going straight to 12-12.let them grow a bit-then youl get later on more bud as well.
anyway-keep up the good work mate...

yah i think its just a 23 watt and i need them to survive for about another 4 weeks,if i bought another 23 watt will that help at all?

a flores bulb is PERFECT for baby clones. you want it within 12 inches. i kept clones up with 0 nutes for months using a good flores.

the most important thing about cloning, however, are the roots. you want to keep the plant humid as possible, like mini rainforest. if you have a heat pad, for snake and lizard cages and such, these work perfectly for insuring good root development for your clones, placed under your grodan/stonewool/cocoa just be careful not to burn them.

edited: also, i use two 40watt cool white bulbs for clones. these are the most ideal bulbs you can use due to the spectrum output.

after you put these as HUMID like a rainforest.....how do you bring them back into reality? this is my dilemma:wall: i have three different methods going right now.....cup of water with air stone.....method above with humidome....and then finally just clones stuck into dirt. Ill see which one works for me. these are all under one CFL light 24hrs on.

well first of all you want your clone dome isolated form your primary garden.

under the dome, the clones are growing roots. to "return them to reality" you just remove the dome and put them in the atmosphere theyll be in under normal vegg circumstances.

also when messing with clones, its usually a good idea to plant them in stonewool. superior medium, plus you get the visual indication that the plant is healthy and keen by the roots penetrating the wool.

is there a key to this? i do this now and within hours they start wilting...was told its humidity shock? do you just mist regularly then once dome is off?

don't mist them with the dome off and just mist the dome when it becomes dry.

keep the condensation effect.
