How much light you got in your 3x3?

Keep the 315 and put 2 quantum boards 120 watt each dimmable. They can produce 230lumen/watt. CMH gives 100lumen/watt. If you replace the CMH with 630watt you end with 63000lumens. If you keep 315 and put 2 X 120 watt you have 565watts combined less heat and you have 85.000 lumen total. 20-25% more yield

Perfect..right now with the two combined I have 625 watts : (355 cmh + 270 v1).. I should’ve considered the 2 boards for spread along w/ the 315..

Running two 315's in my 4x4 and love them. I run them horizontal with the reflectors and I run them vertical bare bulb. Grow for my and my GF's med's and recreation.

I did a lot of research before I switched to CMH, in multiple articles I read that the 315W CMH was equivalent to a 500W HPS. I have run 400W HPS and the 315 is definitely one plus better than the 400, so I bought a second one which works great in my space. I use 12 sqft of the 16 sqft of the tent, the rest is for fans, vent and the such. So my effective grow area is 3x4 that is perfect for the two 315's.
Run a remote ballast so heat has never been an issue. Run the 3100 full time, the UV is a bonus but want to have more UV at late grow. Researching that at the moment.

When I can, I like to switch my DE HPS lamps out for DE MH 10k bulbs to finish with more blue and more UV. This increases density and resin production. I would imagine you can get some of that effect with the CMH as a finishing light.

Regardless of if I can change to MH for finish, I will dim my lights to finish (along with temps, CO2, feed PPM. This prevents foxtailing and increases bud density.

[/Can I ask when do you start turning the power down on your lights? I’m currently running qb288 lm301h 3000k 660nm at approx 600 watts in 12sg ft there 4 weeks in flower and can handle it fine so far

Looking really good man!!! Cobs you say hmmm, may have to look into a pair..
Yeah man, i have only just re visited the growing scene again after about 10 years..back then.. I used mainly HID 400 or 600s... But did try out the 90w BLurple UFOs...I hated them..horrible light color to work or view under.. Lit up the room like a disco but only grew lanky airey space weed..

I realised after a 10 year break leds have or would have come a long way..i only plan to ever grow 1 or 2 plants for personal medication..no matter how much I kid my self that I could smoke bowls for days...theres really no point in having that much.

I figured I go big and sort out a big supply of RQS Critical, so i have enough to last when my next smaller quicker grows are under way...

I looked at several led kits QBs etc etc and there are some great lights out there ...but for a 3 x 3 tent cobs are defo the way forward Optic1 54w cobs are Awesome, hardly any heat , great color spec, no extra fan noise, you can move them around an you can get 90 or 120 degree lenses..

The latest addition to Optic1s line the Phantom XL has great spec and would mean i could loose the top CFLs and the 36w 660nm lamp and replace it withe the Phantoms mixture of Crees finest and Samsungs Horticultural range of whites..as well as the660nm far red and iR and UVB as well

...its an expensive lamp but seing how well the 3x "full cycle" 3500k 54w Optic1s have done in Veg alone ..(and a 4th is on its way).. I have high hopes for the Bloom orientated Phantom Xl ..paired with 4 of the original cobs and the Phantom is dimmable...I am sold. - FS/STELTHY :leaf:

I’ve been eyeing them.. I think I going to buy a couple.. before I bought any light.. I saw a guy on YouTube running them with autos, and thought to myself 4 of these would be great... but the price stopped.. I’m going to review them and since it’s my personal hobby I might buy a pair!!

Good choice on the two lights. I was going to say use the one 315 for veg and get a bit stronger for flower; I use 600w dimmable and do 400-600. That way is recommended in some good guides or tutorials. Less likely for veg to get out of hand and more flowering I guess.
