I've got my babies in 1gal pots they are a lil over a week old, need to know how much water should be applied every watering? Don't wanna over/under do it they kinda look a lil weird and have a few brown spots. They are in a mix of topsoil (store bought) and perlite no nutes in the combination at all, but I have blood and bone meal I was gonna use later on. Could he brown spots be from no food? I put my germinated seeds in jiffy peat plugs for tomatoes does that have nutes in it?

Hiya motomarty22, 1gal=4.5ltr?? I'm Baked! I don't know if this will be any Help?

My Rule of Thumb is twice per week, I weighed my first few runs...smaller Pots on kitchen scales, bigger ones on bathroom scales. Weighed before I watered and after I had watered. I had the Pots in saucers and let them sit(Run Off) then emptied saucers of Run-Off and weighed again(just to be sure) Now I had weight of Dry-ish and Watered.

I use My small finger and insert into the soil up to 4cm down at the edge of Pot, if comes up with bits of Damp-ish soil & perlite I leave for another day..

Also if the Ladies are thirsty they will let you know, you can tell by the way they hang(the leaves) well after so long...it seems like 2nd nature...

Its far worse to Over water than under IMO..

I also used a measuring Jug and started on 150ml then 300ml per watering/feed

Heat, and Airflow do play a part in how much your Ladies drink too...

Peace

When they are that small I water from the center of the pot where the plant is outward. You dont saturate the whole pot at this point. Rather you water a circular area in the center of the pot. Be sure to give your plants 3-4 days to dry out well. Then water again, gradually adding a little more water, gradually increasing the circumference of watered area. Be sure to pot up to 3 to 5 gallons before she out grows the current pot. Better to pot up earlier than later.

Thanks a lot for the advice guys I will def try these methods out. I was gonna put them in 5gal buckets but decided against that til I can maybe find out the sex, don't wanna take up a lot of space wih males but I might have to go ahead and move before I can tell don't want them to get root bound. Idk it's kinda trial and error right now just tryin to get some experience under my belt. Even tho I'm just starting I'm having a blast with his stuff lol

I water the outer area of the medium that way the roots reach for water and build a fatter root base!
