The charts i have say to feed weekly and change the resivour every two weeks. I have been changing it every week and starting with fresh water and new nuts. should i wait another week to change the water and feed it twice before i do?

I have read where some go through a whole grow without changing there res, that may work for some people I think that changing your res is a matter of personal experence,if your res temps stay low and you have no problems then you can get away with changing it less often,if you start seeing salt build up and are having problems with maintaining a steady ph then a res change may be needed.and dont forget those charts are from the same people that are selling you the nutes you may be pouring money down the drain. good luck

alright. thanks for the tips. temps stay low so ill just feed and refill weekly. I always use less then recomended. (as i learned on this site) less is more.

Change your res every 7-10 days. The only time growers don't change their res throughout an entire grow is when they're adding back nutes and water at some point each week. PH, salt build up and res temps have very little to do with how often you should be changing your res. Make it easy on yourself and change your reservoir once per week with daily top-offs of plain water. PH to 5.5-6 each day and you'll be set.

I usually change every 2 weeks when I put my clones into veg. Then once I put them into flower I change it weekly. I do this for 2 reasons. My reservoir stays pretty clean and the weekly changes aren't necessary from a maintenance perspective while in veg. Second reason is I do a perpetual garden, and my clones tend to grow too fast and get too large before I have space for them in the flowering area. So I use less then the recommended amount of nutes and change them out only every 2 weeks which seems to slow down the growth enough to make the transition into bloom fit my timeline a little better. I do the weekly changes during flowering as the plants take up significantly more of the nutrient solution at this point and I like to push the PPM's and keep them as high as I can without burning during flowering as well.

As others have said though, you have to find what works for you. Personally, I would start out doing the weekly changes, and if things are going well and the reservoir is staying pretty clean, you can move to 2 week change outs and just top off as necessary.
