i really dont like using those cubes bucause you dont have to water as much and they build up salt really easy

I flood once a day for 15 minutes when they are small and 2 times a day for 15 minutes when they are hardy and flowering. 15 minutes because that is what the auto timer(5$) I bought from walmart is set to 15 minute increments.
This has worked well for me.
Just make sure you are moving the pot to a larger container after they get root bound in the smaller veg pot. It is easy to get root rot when they are big and bulky during flowering. They have a hard time draining and breathing.

i flood six times a day for like 3 minutes (basically untill it fills up and starts to drain. because i like it that way, my plants seem to be healthier than shit so i like it like that, the thing you have to remember is that the clay balls in your hydro setup dont retain any water so the roots are going to be drying out a lot. water often.

my plants r healthy, its the fact i get algea bad, the rockwool cubes stay too wet., so should i only flood the cubes just a little bit? i have been flooding about 3/4 of the cube.
also any advice on algea?

You shouldn't be flooding the cube at all. Set your system to flood up to about 1/2 inch below the rockwool cubes (assuming you are using hydroton under the rockwool).
Once you have the flood level down you can then flood the tray as many times during lights on as you like (generally 4-6 times) since the hydroton doesn't hold much water. Run the pump just long enough that it fills the tub to the overflow (generally 2-5min depending on your pump).

Good Luck :blsmoke:
