How tall before flowering stage?

Hi,

How tall should the plants be before I start flowering?
I have one almost 12 inches then other one is around 9-10 inches.
I'm using an AG Veg Pro.

Also, when can it be determine if the plants are male or female?

Oh and I forgot. If I start to make them flower, will they drink more water?
I'm leaving on vacation and I don't want them to go dry...

i have a ? for you. When did you add your nutrients packet for the first time? my plants are just about 2 inches now and i was wondering when you added the nutes. Another thing, do you have the packets or the tablets. for some reason i only have the packets. thanks and happy growing

I'm not using the nuets that came with the AG. I got some Canna Aqua nutes.

I started from clones, I waited about 3-4 days after the roots emerged from the AG foam before starting the nutes.

You can flower whenever you are ready at any size you want to.When you flip to 12/12 you should be able to see signs of sex within a week or 2.

So I can't really see the sex before the flowering stage right?

Unless the plants mature in veg.but that usually happen after 6 weeks + in veg.

3-5 in is when mine show preflowers, i would wait until then if possible. Forcing plants to flower before they are mature and ready will slow them down while it forces itself to mature since its only getting 12 hrs of light to finish maturing with. If you have space issues you may need to however, count on them to double-triple in size approx. from the time you put them into flower.

Ok well if they double or triple in size I really need to start flowering soon.

I am also using a veggie pro. My plants are just under 1 foot tall and I just switched them to 12/12. I've moved the lights up once so I figure it the plants double - triple in size then its best to start flowering stage right away. The aerogarden veggie pro lights only go up 2 more notches before it doesnt get any taller! It wouldnt be good if the plants reach the top before they are finished!!

remeber this little ordeal if you start the flowering at one foot tall expect them to grow to about 2.5 feet tall total.. could reach 3 foot ! I started with 2.5 foot tall plants into flowering 2 weeks they are now 4 footers ! OMG !

dudes! I have been on 12/12 1 week and my plants have almost grown a foot!! LOL holy crap I hope they don't get too tall for the aerogarden! yikes

I have the veggie pro, so it only gets about 3-4 feet tall in total... i think? not positive but i really hope they dont grow too tall

if they do, is there any way to stunt the growth upwards? so that it only grows out? god damn i hope so haha

If you have enough light power, a big enough room, enough wind and lastly, time, grow them as big as you want. tarafiied people do LST wich is like plant traing, as is 'topping', do a search and a lil more reading, alot of good advice here on that kinda stuff.

wicked! I knew it had to be possible!! I will definitely research that

I have been watching closely to find out if these plants are female or not, fingers crossed!

If you have clones they "SHOULD" be female and they damn well better be if you had to buy them !

haha actually i got these for free! and they were from seeds not clones . I did buy some seeds but i thought i would try two free ones since I am still learning and not very experienced at growing!

this was my first attempt, just a bag seed, wanted to make sure i could actually take care of somtin like this, and to see how big i could get it... to bad it was a male bummer, but good exp i recon

flip now, or top wait a few days and flip
they will out grow your aerogarden

I've switch my plants into flowering stage 5 days ago now. I'm not sure if they're all girls or not yet. Some of them I'm pretty sure they are though.
I'll wait a couple more days and post pics if I'm still unsure.
