How to F.I.M. correctly & what to expect?

No youtube time lapses after a F.I.M. so I'm getting worried. I was trying to understand the concept on what exactly happens, so I can know I did it correctly. I am worrying that the very tiny new growth inside the F.I.M., will just continue to grow normal with 1 set of leaf tips cut off. Are you suppose to cut it far enough down that the tiny growth gets like 50% cut and stunts the growth too? I cut maybe 75% off instead of 80%. I did it 2 days ago and it feels like it's still growing. Is the center tiny growth suppose to keep growing? Thanks in advance.

Here are some pictures finally, I wasn't able to upload all but should give the idea. Also, I forgot to add the F.I.M. picture of when I did it & I can't now. So these pictures are 2 day's after the F.I.M., it had a bit more cut off it just grew out like this which is why I'm worried.

It doesn't look like you cut enough.
Thanks man, as soon as I saw your comment I said screw it. Not sure it was a good idea but I just FIMMED it a lot, then trimmed the screwed up leaves from the first FIM. Hoping this gives me 6 colas now although higher from the bottom than I wanted, but if not I'm cutting the whole top 2-3 nodes off lol.

Same happened to me for my first FIM Imma leave it alone and grwo itself maybe top it fimming I don't understand
lol I think I understand it but I figured with what the term meant that it didn't matter to much. When FIMMING I think you have to make sure you cut some of the very tiny growth in the center to stop that from growing. When topping, it makes 2 new colas where the flowering branch (or whatever its called) is, which is probably where the new FIMMED colas would appear. Thus giving you 2 sets of nodes technically to branch off of close together since the growth is stunted yet still has a bit of that area where it grows the flowering branch. I believe this also give the node below the FIM a chance to catch up therefore causing maybe 6 colas. Then again I still don't know now :( lol. Someone can maybe correct me or let me know if it is the way it works? Thanks :)

Bro I just did the same thing refimmed both my plants and made sure I got a little of that tiny growth in the middle

And if that doesn't work I'll leave them alone
I might have over cut it this time but I wanted to make sure I got that small growth good. My thought as well which I should have listened to, was that since the the definition of FIM came from trying to top, it should be very close to the bottom of the new growth.

Experience is what makes me say that, the more you top and fim the smaller your end result.Lst is a far more effective way to grow your plants.I would rather have fewer, bigger buds ,than a bunch of small buds

Like topping, buds may be smaller than a top cola would be if that's what you mean but there are more buds around the plant using this method and so thus getting a larger overall yielded weight.

No,you don't get more. You get smaller buds, there may be more of them but you don't yield more.
