How to get your Oregon Medical Marijuana Card

I hope this isn't perceived as spam but I wrote a short guide to getting your OMMP Card. You can find it here: http://oregonmedicalhelp.com/howto/how-to-get-your-oregon-medical-marijuana-card-2/

I don't run the site, they asked me to write it for them, but in the interest of full disclosure I was paid a small sum to write a series of articles for them. It seems like there's a lot of bad information out there and the process of getting a card in this state isn't always straightforward.

If anyone's new to the state, interested in moving here, or just looking to get a card and has some questions, I'd be willing to answer them for ya! My account is pretty new but I'm a long-time lurker and am looking to get back into growing my own meds again since coming back from California.

And if this is seen as spam, please accept my sincere apologies and the moderators can use the nuclear option if they deem it appropriate.

I was thinking about possibly moving to Oregon to start growing for myself and Patients. Once I do get a card how hard or complicated is it to open up a dispensary?

Not hard at all if you have the funds for such a venture. Don't expect to make a profit.. oregonians are cheap and spoiled especially when it comes to meds :-P

There are dispensaries all over I live on the coast and I have my choice of two different places to go both Stoney Girl Franchises. If I wanted to open up shop that's who I'd talk to.

Personally I wouldn't pay their "franchise" fee. Lots of folks up in Portland have opened them. Biggest hurdle is the landlord threat letters.

This is what we are doing...we started with greenhouse and small indoor grow..we put in a warehouse grow and this winter more greenhouse's. We where going to open a club this year but really dont have to yet, lots of new clubs opening and all need meds. We do a co/op style business style with a little twist. We only grow for people outside the state of Oregon, and try and stay in states that dont have MM....CL is a good place to find these people. We also make every one a grower, that way we can just keep adding people. There is no limit the amout of growers you can have on one grow site, i called the state and asked them this myself. THE NEW OMMP IS WORKING GREAT..Lots of new clubs opening, the so called help clubs are going by the way side because of there underhanded scamming ways they do. And the new boys in town have taken over and people now have a place to get meds...FOR OVER 10 YEARS OMMP WAS RUN BY NOOBS AND LOSERS..things have changed in OREGON..THank GOD!

it may be technically true that you could register unlimited growers at the same site, i'm not sure. but the standard here is to keep it under 4 patients (96 plants total) per site to avoid the federal 99 law.
