How to grow 4 hydro planys to escape 15 years jail for hydroponic grow in Australia

Hi there everyone.

For all those not already aware of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Amendment (Hydroponic Cultivation) Act 2006 of NSW Australia, there are some pretty harsh penalties if you are caught and charged.


Penalties
There is no change in penalty for less than the “small quantity” of hydro plants (that is, less than 5 plants). They are treated the same as outdoor cannabis plants. If dealt with summarily, the maximum penalty is $5,500 and 2 years imprisonment (s30(3)) or $220,000 or 10 years if dealt with on indictment (s32(1)(h)).
The maximum penalty for cultivation of 5 to 49 hydro plants is $385,000 and 15 years imprisonment (s33(2)(b)). For cultivation of 50 or more hydro plants, the maximum penalty is also $385,000 and 15 years imprisonment (s33(2)(b)).
For 200 or more hydro plants, a “large commercial quantity”, the maximum penalty is $550,000 and 20 years imprisonment (s33(3)(b)).

So given this scary information, I plan to grow only four plants hydroponically.


I plan to use the following setup:

40L storage container aeroponic box
5-6' stealth storage unit
400-600w HPS + retro MH

Possible design (taken from: http://www.sunlightsheds.com/cool-cab.htm ):


The components that I am unsure of:

Plant breed:
What breed should use to maximize my yield given my constraints(four plants)?

Grow unit design:
What design characteristics if any would be able to further increase the growing yield?

Target yield:
What sort of yield is possible out only four plants grown in such a way?


If anyone is able to share their own experiences or opinions I'd be very grateful.

We have a medical legal limit of 6 plants here in Oregon, and people that are interested in getting the most from a small number of plants either grow large trees that wouldn't fit in that cabinet or a number of scrogs, which you could have 2 weeks apart perpetually but you'd want like 400w ea scrog minimum and way more space than that cabinet has.

If you only want a single 400 then I would choose a cabinet with 3'x3' inside floor dimensions, not that skinny tall thing. 3x3 would give the mac space to let 4 plants in hydro crop out maybe 8oz's tops. In that other cab they would be too crowded to get that, you'd be more in the 1oz per plant range to start. It also depends on if you want to flip crops fast and get smaller yields or veg longer for larger yields.

Do you have a weight limit there too, like over an ounce or over 4 ounces gives more jail time?

It's a trip how they single out hydro... What's up with that?

So 3'x3' (or 1m2) would be sufficient for 8oz total or 8oz per plant x4?

Why are they targeting hydro? I guess to piss off the pot smokers and to stroke the self righteous. Australia is pretty conservative on drugs policy, which is shit, because I love drugs.

8 oz total in 3x3 area, but that's with some experience under your belt or following the best techniques you can find from day one, and using a really good yielding strain wouldn't hurt either.

So what about soil then if hydro is singled out? Soil isn't second best.

u can use whatever container/closet u want just seal it up extraaaa good and vent to the top or your house

their definition of 'hydroponic' is any plant soil or hydro that is grown underlights with fans etc so any decent indoor setup is 'hydroponic by their definition
