probably better off just buying a filter for the price of them. bolt it on to your extractor and duct out of your grow room, this will filter the air being pulled through the filter and out of the room.

it must be nice to have $500 lying around!
buy a inline fan and filter.... you can get a 4 inch for 120 shipped.
i haven't seen those, but at that price, i'd expect the fan to be really loud and low flow too. i have 6 inch ducts in my system anyways as well as a nice soler & palau fan

i made a DIY filter by stacking two milk crates with the bottom one being a chamber wrapped in duct tape feeding my duct and the top one having a screen silicone glued to the bottom of that i'll be putting floss on and then activated carbon for easy maintenance. hopefully it will work adequately as i'm using low odor strains anyways and cut anything that gets too funky down as i had to with hashberry & white castle in the past.

i'm also planning on making a muffler for my fan as it's far from silent even with a speed controller as the slower you tune the fan, the louder it hums, so i'm looking to increase flow without getting louder.

i've seen DIY scrubbers based on the canister design that use chicken wire. you should be able to find those if you keyword "DIY carbon scrubber".
