How to start seeds

They're growing too fast. They have all grown identically. It's only been 18 days and I wanted to veg for 5-6 weeks. This is not going to be possible if I want to put them on 12:12 at 30 cms. They're already well over 13 cms in the 10 cm pots. There are 4 sets of leaves and they are not extending past the perimeter of the pot. The stems are thick and strong.

I will transplant as soon as they are next dry into 7 litre pots. I want to put 8 pots in a sq m under 600 W HPS. 2 will be kept as Mums.

Pics to follow later.

Here are the pics to update, 18 days after I started this thread.

Half of them are dry already from this morning so hopefully I can transplant all tomorrow.

I can see white roots poking through the holes in the base but I haven't take them out to look. I don't need to, i can see that they are ready by the way the leaves are not surpassing the edges of the pot. They sense the lack of space and will compensate by growing upwards instead. They're already 60% sativa so I need them to hopefully bush out a bit and not grow vertically, I HAVE NOT FED THEM YET !!! 18 days on Canna Seedmix and Rhizotonic only. Very Low EC & PH 6.0-6.3

I won't be feeding them too soon either as the new soil will have an EC 0.8-1.0 and that will last a few waterings before I have to start with a veg fert higher in N.

I hope this thread has helped any newbies out there!!

Transplanted successfully and now in the 18:6 HPS veg room.

If anyone wants to follow this up please let me know. Otherwise this thread is done.

I may do a short thread on 'How To Make Clones' but I'll call it ' How I Make Clones'. Not planning on taking any for a week or so.

Hi Guys/Gals !!,

Just a quick update. My Ex Ch are over 24 cms and are really vegging now. They're 60% Sativa so I'm not looking for too much height.

I will put them in the main room in a day or so. I've cloned this strain before and I'll be selecting 2 mums from this batch. 8 under a sq m / light.

I can't remember cloning them in less than 10 days, plus at least 2 weeks veg time and they were smaller than the seeds at the same time. Plus I'd have to put at least 16 under a light in smaller pots

The seeds are from Greenhouse and are so cheap, even cheaper than clones !!

The question
- Should I bother cloning or just buy seeds of this strain ?? The seeds are fast, less hassle and care for the first few weeks. No feeding etc. I could sell a clone for €5 and these seeds are €2.50 !!! Could even double my money by just starting the seeds !!!!

Great thread... yes, you are helping this mamma care for her new babies and learn how to better prepare for their adventure in the world. I want to get some of this soil mix but don't quite understand what your preparation is. Can you tell me how you prepare your soil for the seeds? Did I miss teh specifics on that somewhere? If so, forgive me.

Also, does this greenhouse place sell auto-flowering seeds?

The Seedmix is soiless, no nutes which is what I want but I do sometimes put a couple of inches of soil at the bottom of the pot - this enables them to feed themselves once the roots grown down. I use Canna Rhizotonic which is a root complex, very weak food with Vitamins B. It help with the transplant and I use 1/4 dose. Always start low dose and work up. The PH for the water for the clones/seeds in this mix is PH 6.0-6.2 and I use a sports cap bottle to water. Very important not to overwater at this stage.

I think you should try it. I reckon that women will be slightly more dextrous than men. I will take some more photos later. I haven't seen them yet. no-one showed me how to do this it was just trial and error.
iv'e always just germinated mine by hot water till they showed root then straight in to a pot of good soil,
but will deffo try your way next time but keeping them a lot smaller2012-09-10 16.31.21.jpgthe buds are really starting to grow

I made a solution of around 5-6 drops of 29% h202 into a litre of distilled (vapour) then poured that into shot glasses, put on top of the fridge covered with a cup, after she cracks (around 10hrs) transferred to a paper towel on a plate on an angle to have gravity encourage her down then transferred to rockwool when the root tips at around 5/8 inch, into a propagator (Swiss chalet container) with the vents closed and a fluorescent above, opened twice or so a day for fresh air then when the seedling grew the first leaves followed and the root started growing out of the bottom to the sides where moisture had built up in the container they went into 3gl dwc, this is the first girl i ever germed and it was via this method.

Absolutely, that's my first attempt at any seed or grow, the methods I used were plucked from posters on here, probably over the top but it worked for me

If they are still that colour u can increase the nutes. Looks a bit low on N but if they're nearly ready then don't add loads of food at the end. An EC meter would be useful.
