Anyone know how to stunt a plants growth so as to put it on pause?
Will root bound do it?
I have stunted plants b4 where they didn't grow up or out for weeks. Seen plants in yards that haven't grown in years but are very much alive.
Was thinking this would be a good skill, might come in handy.

How to encourage growth after the plant is stunted?
I have 3 plants from old seed tht are growing supper slow. It seems when I trim them they come with new growth and I could have been more on top of replanting and started with low light.
They are so far behind I think they are mutants.

i think in the right temps and humidity they just live to stay green and not growing.. i mean by the right temps here for you to stunt them

picard[1].jpg images[3].jpg images[8].jpg images[8].jpg images[8].jpg why not just walk on top of them this will stun them . or tie a animal to them then throw a ball or food . or back over them in the drive . very best way is to infest them with bugs suggest large worms they eat like crazy plant will keep growing but never get bigger .

Only thing that will happen is a giant waste of time, but sure you can, lower temps to like 50, feed once a month or less and don't let them flower. They won't stop but they will slow down. Your time would be better spent trying to revive them or scrap them. And don't listen to BO, pretty sure he Likes to torture puppy dogs and other cute things ;).

1 reason I have run into is having to much growth on the moma veg side with limited room in bloom room. So I can be ready latter with what I wanted to save and not have to start new ones again or use those. And without having to butcher/trim or defoliate alot.

So your moms are being kept strictly for clones then? Cooler temps like I said will slow them, as well as less feed. When we kept mothers, we would not take cuttings for rooting until the spring but cuttings were taken all winter to shape and keep them manageable, some were used to start new mothers and lots was compost. You can never stop them but you can keep them in check :).

What the hell is weird to peeps about knowing how to put their plants on pause?

I've done it many times the last decade or so. I often had to take off to work on oil rigs running water truck and would need to slow things down for a month or more sometimes. The wife is good for watering a few plants for a bit but shit for taking care of all the other things needed to keep a steady grow going.

You can't really slow down a plant in mid-flower without screwing that up so if it's close to the end then best to take it early if you will be gone a while. Vegging plants and moms can be slowed down dramatically by just reducing their light and food for a long time. Doesn't take much light to keep them alive as long as they get 18 hours in a stretch. Unplug the HID and put a few CFLs around the plants to maintain the photoperiod at 18 hours. Even put the timer for 2 hours on, two hours off for the 18 then 6 off and they will go almost dormant but stay in veg mode. If in hydro refill the rez with 1/4 the ppm as you were using and lower the N even more. As cool temps as you can manage will help even more down to 50F or so. In dirt or soilless flush with at least the same volume as the pot and give nothing for real dirt grows and 1/4 strength with lesser N like with hydro for the soilless crowd.

After a month or so they may not look so great but may look just the same as you left them. Just fire up the lights and increase the nutes 50% at first then up to what is best a week later and they'll come back with a vengeance. In their tiny minds they are a month older and will strive to get where they should have been without the interruption.

Do that with moms between cuttings to keep them smaller.

:peace:

Google bonsai moms. That should lead you to a web page where the guy shows how to butcher the plant down and then chop the roots down so you can pot down...make it smaller and regrow it...
