How to tell the difference between "powedery mildew" and "mites"?

I have been doing some research but can't distinguish exactly what is going on with my plants. I know it is either powdery mildew or mites. So if anyone has a way to determine the difference for sure then any information would be very helpful. Thank you and happy growing! :weed:

Powdery mildew looks like it sounds - a powdery coating on your leaves. Mites look like very tiny red creatures that create webs. Look at your plant with a magnifier - if they're mites, you'll see them.

Powdery mildew looks like you were cutting drywall in your grow room but the gypsum dust only settled on your leafs. It is powder that is alive. Spider mites look like little crabs to me (under a 40x loupe)

Mites put small pinholes in leaves at first then webs start usually on developing buds & by the time you got webs they're in high gear you can often see them scurrying around powdery mildew is just that white powder residue a pic would help

Turn your effected leaf upside down...if you look close and see tiny dots ...its mites.
