How to yield high in Ebb and Flow?

Hey all! I am currently starting my second grow and if it wasnt for this web sites community I wouldnt have gotten through my first grow. I yielded half a pound (Dry weight) from 3 plants in my first grow. I did a tent grow with a 2x2 ebb and flow tray using fox farm nutes under a 600w system.

I am going to maximize my second grow to utilize what I learned in my first grow and go for 8 plants in a 4x4 active aqua tray under 2 600w lamps. I'm doing an ebb and flow again and I believe I yielded so high in my first grow due to the fact I didn't grow my plants in any pots I let them grow freely in my 2x2 ebb and flow tray using a 15 gal rez. I had a huge root collection under the surface of my hydroton when I harvested and realized it might have had a part to play in my half pound yield from 3 plants.

Sense I am growing 8 plants I dont want to grow them all freely in my 4x4 tray in case of hermies. If I grow in 9' net baskets or pots, will I still yield high per plant? Will the roots grow through the holes of a 9' net basket? This is really my only delima as I have everything else solved and ready to go.

simply make some larger holes on the bottom and sides with a drill or knife and you should be fine bro,
