HPS Difference

how much of a noticable difference is there between a 250 watt hps and a 400 watter? yield wise?....power bill wise? heat wise?...anything you could give me would be appreciated.

400 watt= bigger growing space, bigger bill and yes more heat

about 20,000 lumen difference....not much of a heat difference. i've gone from a 250 to a 400hps recently and my temps are about the same...mid to low 80's. maybe 3-4 bucks to 7-10 per month.

well my main question is my space is only a 3' x 2' closet, is it worth the upgrade? yield wise or should i just stick with the 250?

stay with the 250.

my room is 1.5 deepx 4 wide x 6 high....400w with low 80's temp...if u have the ventilation then upgrade.

if your not going to have more than 3-4 plants, whats the point of upgrading to a 400hps?

i dont see any post saying how many plants are in use.... nice assumption.

well ive got one big girl about 3 1/2 feet tall and thats all i can fit in my closet. next time ill do 2 or 3 with a way shorter veg time so they dont get a tall. how much more of a yield would i see if i grew the exact same plant with a 400 compared to my 250 i have now? im just trying to get a general idea if its really worth the upgarde.

u'll have slightly bigger, denser nugs...i have 7 going in mine right now... 2 in 3gal pots..2 in 1.5gal pots and 2 in 1/4 gal pots..and 1 in a half gallon.

what type of size difference have you noticed with your different size pots?

if you can go 250w and some side lighting,, that would be steller.
