HPS or MH light socket?

I got just got back from home depot and picket up some 100 W MH lights. I have one problem... where do you plug them into? Is there some kind of special socket or something for them or something? Where is the socket you screw them into? What would work? I'm new to this and cant afford to buy a 1/4 oz every week so I decided to order some White Widow and some Northern Lights. Please help!!!

Err go back to home depot and buy the light fixture that the bulb is made for. (its a shrouded unit)

that is a good question now. the HPS i use is a 400W, so it has an E40 socket and needs a blast to run. but i noticed that there are some smaller 75-150W bulbs out there that go on a normal E27 socket which makes it confusing. also i don't know if those still need a own blast or have a build in like cfl bulbs have. so the best is to back to the shop and ask before you waste your treasures money:neutral:

you may want to return them anyway and get yourself a good 400W HPS setup... and some 21W cfl's for the first weeks of grow.:)

I bought the one with conversion bulb think it was 30bucks more but I want MH for veg. Im a little disappointed though I ordered over a week ago and havent heard anything from them but they did charge me in a timely manner lol. Im not bashing them, I have just heard people get their lights in a few days (maybe im too excited). I order a bunch of other stuff though so maybe it will get here monday.

na, it the thing with grow shops, they take them self sometimes a bit to much time. i order a load of grodan cubes like 14 days ago and paid for them the same day but they didn't ship then to this day. i guess i know how pissed you have to feel:-|
