Mate, I couldn't get the MH globe to fit in to the HPS fixture as it didn't fit! So I went down to my local hydro shop & asked if it could be done...NO, was the answer, so I bought a switchable system.
95% of people on here will tell u it can't be done, I believe them!
Now for a few more wesley snipes!!

Mate, if it fit, I wouldn't have wasted the cash on a switchable ballast! Thats what I'm saying!! My MH globe was three times the size of the HPS one, it physically would not fit!

You can use either one.. but id go with a hps light.. much better.... also in beginning growth keep the light a good 3-4 feet until the plant really starts to grow.. depending on how many watts your hps light is... 150-300 watts would be like 1-2 ft 400+ would be more like 3-5 fti was just wondering if i wanted to buy 1 type and stay with it for veg and flower what would be the best to use,and whats the pros and cons of using either 1 for the whloe grow.thx for any help

I'm growing some purple kush and vegged for 4 weeks under a thousand watt HPS. They finshed up at 20" max in height. Is this because of the strain or is it the intense light for veg. Is a MH really a lot better for veg?

becuz of the light you used. veg cycle need the blue spectrume for growth.
and yes you can flower with a MHeasygrinder

So the reason they were so small was because of the light. Thanks rep+becuz of the light you used. veg cycle need the blue spectrume for growth.

my1st grow i used a MH for bloom bud where a bit airy but had a great high. i use a HPS now since my 2nd grow and the buds are so much bigger and harder.thanks and any time i can help
