FROM ANOTHER LED THREAD regarding "that one LED video"

That video doesn't make a very good argument for LEDs. Consider this - final results:

HID
91 Grams at .217 g/Kwh
total Kwh used: 420

LED
36 Grams at .36 g/Kwh
total Kwh used 99.9

Looks like you use 1/4 the electricity but you reduce your yield by over 50%!

Unless of course you are more concerned about your electric bill over yield.

I think LEDs will probably catch up to and then surpass HIDs relatively soon but they currently don't seem to be done cooking yet.

Led's are to be used in conjuction withother lights. the point of them is so you can put them pretty much toucking your plant and they do put out some good veg result asfar as flowering though... my friends set up is a white/blue/red LED and an 400w hps amazing buds!!! but evry1 should experiment what may work for some won't work for all

I have been playing with LED's for a few months now, and my opinion is that they cant replace good ol' HPS or even CLF, but they are great for supplemental lighting. I put a few panels on the sides, and they really helped to boost growth in otherwise shaded areas.
