Week: 7 - Day: 47

This week a second Grow Northern HS1 LED unit was added and with that the base nutrients have now been changed out from Grow to Bloom.
A long with all that a beneficial tea was brewed during the week and added to the Alien Hydro DWC pot, plus further training has been commencing each other day.

Unfortunately this week The young plant isnt looking too great. This is because the leaves that were affected by the calcium deficiency from last week are now getting bigger and looking worse.
Other than that everything is under control and the plant is perfect shade of green and looks healthy.
The plants roots are gone very brown at this stage because of the tea. They smell like earth and as always this is a good sign, dont want them smelling like rotten eggs (root rot).

Think Big is really starting to spread out now with growth noticeably picking up the pace now.
She currently stands at a Height/Length of 48cm and Width of 62cm and shes drinking about 10L of solution a week.

Pre-flowers are now clearly visible and developing into small clusters quite fast.
The smell has now been enhanced this week and its reminds one of something quite familiar.
The nostrils were greeted with a lovely scent of sweet zesty lime when the tent was opened today exactly like Think Different.

Week: 8 - Day: 54

Unfortunately im very sad to report that in my own stupidity i have reluctantly stunned this Think Big Auto-flowering Cannabis plant.
Due to the Low Stress training being a little more intensive this time round and not having applied an anchor disaster struck.
While changing out the nutrient solution at the end of week 6 all ties had to be removed and then set in place again.
While trying to tie the plant back down in place again some roots in the root riot got damaged when the main stem moved a little too much.

This plant will be continued to be documented here on this journal while at the same time a new seed will be germinated and it will also be documented here once it is ready.
The stunned plant will be transplanted into a 25L bin giving room to the seedling which i hope will get to the size i desire.
I have come up with an idea to anchor the new seedling securely so this problem should not happen ever again.

This week more horizontal training ties were applied and tied and With that some of the really badly affected leaves were pruned and removed.

Even though Think Big is stunned she is still showing signs of being a healthy auto-flower.
The leaves that weren't affected by the two week old cal/mg deficiency are lovely shade of dark green.
New growth seems perfectly fine and healthy with no more cal/mg issues in sight.
Also the roots are smelling nice and sweet and are looking very white with slight staining occurring from the tea.

Unfortunately due to the plant being stunned vertical growth has stopped almost completely while horizontal growth still appears to be going, but yet very slow.
The plant now has a height of about 49cm and width of 80cm. She is still drinking about 10L of solution a week roughly.

Pre-flowers are still about the same as last weeks update with not much of a difference to document as of yet.
One thing to note is that this plan is already starting to put out THC around the bottom of the flowers and stems.
The smell is very intense now and it still has that lovely Think Different Zesty Sweet Lime shower gel aroma.

Have you tried the pH perfect versions of the AN base nutrients? Your plant looks like it has some pH issues, maybe too many different types of additives etc.? Kind of looks like the beginning of root rot also.

Can ya drill holes in the edge of the lid and tie down the limbs to that?dwc with a net seems like pain in the ass for resivoir maintenance.

Week: 9 - Day: 60

This week the stunned Think Big was transplanted from the 55L pot to a 25L Bin that was picked up in a local store.
With that the training ties were removed and the plant was allowed to stand up again to make space for the new Think Big Seedling.
A beneficial tea was also brewed this week and added to the 25L bin for the Stunned Think Big.

Finally Think Big has started to advanced further ahead into flowering after being stunned for almost two weeks.
She is looking healthy again bar some of the leaves that were affected by the calcium deficiency almost two weeks ago.

Note that the training ties have been released it does seem like this plant has gotten bigger but i can assure you that she hasn't grown much since being stunned.
The stunned plant has managed to get to a height of 52cm and width of 80cm, this probably wont change much from here on out.

Flowers are now starting to kick into action once again as the pistils are now developing faster than before.
Bud formation should be noticeable by next weeks update all things going well.

The plants ability to produce THC seems to have been stopped in its track since the tragedy occurred two weeks ago.
Hopefully within the next coming weeks some more crystal production should be noticeable.

The smell from this plant is still quite amazing as it continues to fragrance the grow room. Its like an enhanced Think Different aroma with all the great quality's but just better.

Think Big is slowly coming a long as she gradually ages and matures. Buds have now formed and are developing very nicely. The smell is great. From here on out the new Think Big seedling will be documented with much more detail and unfortunately this stunned plant will not. I do apologies for the lack of detail i just cant document a stunned plant, it bothers me greatly.

Week: 2 - Day: 13

Previously:

The young seedling is ready to be transplanted from the root riot to the rock wool cube only 5 days after germination.

Before transplanting, the rock wool cube was prepared by making the hole in the center the perfect size to fit the root riot cube.
It was also washed and then conditioned in a nutrient solution with a very low EC and a PH of 5.5 for a couple of days previously.

This is the perfect time in which to add the Mycorrhizal Fungi to the rhizosphere.
Adding them in this step greatly increase the chances of the beneficial fungi adapting to the root zone of the seedling compared to just adding it to the DWC pot itself.

About 4 days ago the 9 day old seedling was transplanted into a net pot with clay pebbels that were washed and conditioned in a nutrient solution with a low EC and PH of 5.5 a few days previous.
That same net pot was then added to the DWC pot which consisted of plain bubbled PH'd water. The water will be changed out for a fresh nutrient solution once the feeder roots hit the water.

Presently:

Today the seedling is only 13 days old and already her roots are touching the water.

A fresh Nutrient solution will be prepared and added to the pot tomorrow just in time for when the seedling begins to take up some nutrients.

The Think Big seedling is currently on her third set of true leaves with the fourth just beginning to protrude as of now.
Currently she stands at a height of 5cm and Width of 8cm, with that inter nodal spacing is nice and tight due to the GN HS1 LED being a maximum height of 30cm above the canopy.

More detailed updates to follow next week.

Week: 3 - Day: 19

This week the plant received its first feeding of Nutrients in the Alien Hydroponics 55 litre Deep Water Culture pot.
Along with that a super beneficial tea was brewed and poured directly through the net pot to the plant roots.

The new Think Big seedling seems perfectly fine and healthy at the moment with no ill findings to report of just yet.
You will notice some slight heat stress signs from this seedling due to the LED being kept very close to the canopy.
In order to keep inter-nodal spacing to a minimum the LED unit is kept at 28-30cm above the canopy.

Think Big is now on its 4th set of true leaves with the 5th set already protruding from the top.
Inter-nodal spacing is very short and with that side stems have formed and growth from that area is already underway.
This seedling is now at Height of 8cm and Width of 13cm.

Today the plant decided to show sex.

Root growth is really coming along for a 19 day old plant.
As always, the staining on the roots is from the tea that was added earlier during the week.
Its easy to tell that its not root rot because of the slight red hues in the staining.

Week: 4 - Day: 26

This week the young Think Big received its second nutrient change with some new additives, cal/mg and silicon added to the solution.
The strength of the base feed was kept to the same levels as last week with some minor adjustments being made to the additives.
To add to the solution a Super Anti Root Rot Tea was brewed and fed directly through the net pot to the plant.

Good news to report this week as no more signs of heat stress have been noted nor any deficiency's of any kind as of yet.
The young plant appears to be quite happy and looks rather healthy at this point.

Inter-nodal spacing has begun to get noticeably wider and Think Big has grown to a Height of 15cm while at a Width of 30cm.
The autoflowering cannabis plant is now on its 7th set of true leaves with plenty of side shoots and growth developing.
So far only Sativa traits have been the most noticeable in this young plant.

Week: 5 - Day: 34

This week a cane was tied on to the lid of the DWC pot in order to make sure the plant had an anchor before training was initiated. The plan is to bend the plant over the cane using the cane as a support to keep the plant safe. Now that the cane is in place, Low stress training has begun.

In this weeks feed bottle "A" of Grow was decreased while increasing bottle "B", all additives have also been slightly increased.
To go with that a tea was also brewed in order to combat the dreaded root rot which the young plant now has due to my own error.

The root rot was caused unfortunately, due to the air stone been left hanging just under the water level but well above the center of the DWC pot. The mistake was made after changing out last weeks nutrients, thus causing a lack of oxygen to the nutrient solution. All things going well this shouldn't be a problem in a few days.

Beside the slight nute splash discoloration on one of the fan leaves the plant is looking healthy. She is a perfect shade of green and has a great vigor.

Think Big has now begun to grow more rapidly than before, Growth appears to be strong and vigorous. The plant is producing her 8th set of nodes with inter nodal spacing becoming much further apart than previous weeks.

Preflowers have just started to form and they should be more noticeable by next weeks update.

Week: 6 - Day: 40

In this weeks feed Grow Bottle A was lowered yet again while still increasing Bottle B, all additives were again slightly increased to suit the Think Big's needs.
This weeks nutrient solution will be the last feed of Grow/Veg Nutrients , next week Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur Flower/Bloom will be used instead.

Think Big was put under a second HS1 this week, both have 80x80 diffusers.

Since training commenced last week more ties have been applied and a sort of scrog/LST net will built along with the plant as she grows.
This net will just be made from the same string used to tie down the plant which should be safe enough not to do any damage while training.

Unfortunately I cant get a picture but the plants roots are looking very healthy since brewing a tea and keeping water temperature in check.
It appears the root rot was caused by a lack of oxygen as once the air stone was correctly positioned into the pot it almost seemed to vanish over the course of the week.

Think Big seems to be enjoying the feeding solution this week as she is a lovely vibrant colour with beautiful green leaves and an over all healthy stature.

There seems to be a slight twist in two leaves on the entire plant, maybe something to do with the root rot the plant had last week.

The auto-flower seems very strong with a nice big thick main stem and strong branching.
Her main stem is solid and strong which makes it very hard to bend, the most precious care is taken while LST'ing this plant.

Growth it vigorous at this stage as the plant continues to produce more side branching at a quicker pace each day. Leaves are beginning to change from 5 fingered to 3 with most of the newer growth. Think Big has reached a length 72cm and width of 75cm along with the even canopy height of 30cm.

The Pre-flowers have now formed some what in some areas of the plant, with more to form and develop as the weeks go on. To add to that a lovely floral Think Different aroma is now present.

Week: 7 - Day:49

The switch to bloom nutrients was made this week and with that CANNA Boost and Advanced Nutrients Bud Factor X were also added to the solution.
Now that the pace has really picked up and to suit the plants needs the additives Silicon and Cal/Mg were also increased ever so slightly.

Since the switch to the bloom nutrients Think Big showed some minimal signs of a Nitrogen toxicity.
This is something to be noted from now on as the Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur are much hotter nutrients compared to its sister nutrient Sensi Bloom.

Further low stress training has been applied to the Think Big auto-flowering plant and as the plant grows bigger so does the training net which holds her in place.
To keep up with the rapid growth and to minimize further stretching a third GN HS1 LED, using a 80x80 diffuser has been hung above the canopy.

Besides the slight toxicity the plant has some lovely green strong stems with very minimal purpling around the petioles and side stem growth.
Think Bigs roots smell very healthy with no more signs of any root rot so over all the plant is happy and thriving.

Growth has been very productive this week with the Auto-flower now reaching a length of 75cm and width of 74cm.
There has been plenty of stretching noted between the nodes and side stem growth, this is due the the vigorous training being applied.

Preflowers are now visible all around the plant with some being a little more behind than the rest.
The main stem of the plant being the furthest along in development as you can see from the picture.
The aroma so far is very pleasant but not pungent, its very citrus and Zingy Lime like.

Week: 8 - Day: 56

This update was meant to be done yesterday but there was no time to do it, so here is the plants progress from yesterday.

There was no nutrient change out this week as once the switch to Bloom nutrients commences the nutrient solution will be changed out every two weeks.
So that means there was no changes made to any of the Nutrients or Additives this week either.

Again like last week further training has been applied to the adult plant and a fourth Grow Northern HS1 unit has now been hung above the canopy.
All HS1 LED units have a 80x80 diffuser mounted currently while the plant is still stretching but that will change as of next week.

So far so good as Think Big Seems to be really enjoying herself in the 55L Alien Pro DWC single bucket system.
At first glance it seems clear that some sort of Phosphorous deficiency has occurred due to the excessive purple and red that has taken over most of the plants stems.
Hopefully with next weeks nutrient change and by adjusting the base nutrients slightly there should be time to combat this deficiency before any real damage is done.

It also appears that some slight light bleaching has effected some of the fan leaves on this auto-flowering cannabis plant.
This is due to leaving the plant grow as close as possible to the LED to get the most efficiency and production from the light.
The plant finally reached a distance of 23cm away from the lights before any real bleaching was noted.

Minimal stretching has been observed this time round due to the LED units being kept so close to the plant canopy.
Growth has been very strong and vigorous the past few weeks with it now noticeably stagnating as the plant sets into her flowering phase.
Think Big has reached a length of 90cm and a width of 100cm with the plants even canopy now coming in at just over 25cm.

Pre-flowers on the main stem of this plant have now started to mature ever so slightly as she slowly transitions from flower to bud.
Pistils on the main flower have just begun as of yesterday to slightly change in colour from white to amber.

However the rest of the plants growth is now playing catch up as its pre-flowers are still developing and forming in some areas.
The pistils on the side growth are still forming and throwing out some new white shoots of flower every day.

Think Bigs aroma has really developed now as it hits the nostrils with a lovely zing every time the grow tent is opened.
It smells like a Zesty lime x Amnesia Haze, almost citrus like with musky oak undertones.

Here is the plants main stem currently. Its getting quite a size.
