Huge workshop grow, Help?

Basically, my friend (who's willing to spend $500-$1000 total) and I are looking to buy EVERYTHING needed to grow at least a halfpound per plant, per harvest and have it set up by next weekend. The only problem, is it will have to be as low maintenance as possible, as he will be going to college and his parents will have to take over for periods of time, so it can't be super complicated to maintain.
We will be growing in a workshop, or we can convert the 3 car garage into as much grow space as needed. Looking to grow a minimum of 5-10 plants for the first harvest.
What's the best way I can go about buying everything needed? I don't want to buy one of those all in one kits, as they are usually a rip off in the end. I have a ebay account linked to my un-maxable credit card, so throw me some ebay links and I'll start buying everything needed.

- Lights
He's looking to spend up to $500 on lights alone. Whats the best lights that we can use for all stages of growth, that can grow at least 10 plants or so? Also getting at least a half pound per plant, per harvest.(I know this depends on strain and veg/flower time, any advice on these would be greatly appreciated)

- Soil
I would love if I could find a site to buuy pre-mixed soil is large enough quantities for 5-10 plants, I need advice as to what kinds of buckets to grow the plants in as well.

-Nutes, CO2
Advice on the nutrients would be appreciated as well. I was thinking of mixing up like 10gallons of water with the nutes needed, then setting up an automatic watering system with the plants so no manual watering is needed. Is this a good idea?

I appreciate any and all help given. Thanks :weed:

I just wanted to post and let you know I was shaking my head and laughing the whole time I read this.

I'll let someone else tell you that it can't be done.

I don't think you quite understand, or even read what I posted. We have the funds and space to do anything needed, all I'm asking for is advice. You don't have to be a dick and post low quality material that doesn't have anything really to do with what I posted
Have a good day

You will need more than 1000 dollars to set up.....a couple lights and hoods alone will be 500-700 bucks...you still need pots, soil, nutirents/soil amendments....ventilation exhaust....cooling/heating......fans meters etc etc....growing indoors is a little pricey for the initial start up......

When I say up to $500, that doesn't mean we can't spend more. We are serious about this, and are already buying the supplies to build seperate veg/flower rooms. We can afford EVERYTHING NEEDED, you guys don't understand what I'm saying. I just need advice on what I should start out with for 5-10 plants. 2x 500w hps lights? What site should I get these from, ebay? what kinds of pots should I buy? What's a good mixture of soil to use? I've been looking into this for quite a while and am not trying to waste my time

what they're trying to tell you is, you gotta learn to crawl before you can walk.
Yep throwing cash at dead plants wont work.

A lot of work will have to be on someones shoulders. and the power bill will need to be paid.

Now lets count. 1 friend, 2 friend parents, you, thats 4. who else knows?

Your excitement is all good but you have much to learn before you will grow even1 plant at the 1/2 lb expected.

Oh yeah, 8oz per plant indoors is easy to do for a beginner (or anyone for that matter). Just go to walmart and buy a couple cfl's... just kidding! All kidding aside, 8 oz per plant indoors will not be easy...

Ok well then fuck my minimum yield because thats obviously getting all your panties in a bunch. I'm looking for the highest yeild possible, and I can get anything needed to do so. I may try the nutrient film technique, or I might just throw a bunch of plants in some pots with good ass soil, a good nutrient mix, under a few good lights with a good ventilation system and see where it goes from there. Thanks for the help (not)

outta 10 plants heres what u need....at least a 8 by 8 room COMPLETELY SEALED, 1000w per 2 plants, co2 reg, controller, and tank refill like once a week, a full line of nutrients , advance, hg and many others, smart pots, drip trays, all your meters, big carbon filter a couple max fans a couple oss fans, panda film, ducting , clamps prob some eletrical work since your reg shit cant handle that power..you need mad soil and at least 7-10 gallon pots prob an ac or 2...theres alot more too...all in all if you wanna get a hp per plant on ur first crop u gotta drop 5 or 6 grand down plus all the extras

Way too many variables here for anyone to respond. I would say if you wanted each plant to grow 8 oz indoors look at spending 500-1000 PER PLANT imo.

and YOU are not understanding what everyone else is saying. two things. What you're asking for is more complicated than you think and how you're going about it is quite lazy. you are not serious. you think you're serious. someone who has "been looking into this for quite awhile" would have more realistic questions/goals. you might think all these comments are dickish, but people are only trying to help you ground your expectations.

If you've "been looking into this for quite a while", you would know that they don't make 500 watt hps lights. I suggest reading a book,
[h=1]Marijuana Grower's Handbook: Your Complete Guide for Medical and Personal Marijuana Cultivation [Deluxe Edition] [Paperback][/h] Then build a room out of 2x3s or buy a tent (4x8, I like a little bigger), then buy your lights (2-600s with air cooled hoods), carbon filter, and fans, 5 or 7 gallon buckets with drain holes, ProMix BX for grow media, then figure out a drip system.

Worry about what nutes to use while you wait on seeds.

Who will claim the prize gardner position?

Friend is not he is going somewhere.
Friend parents? maybe but you don't want them to have to do much.
You? you have not shown personal interest past financing so I doubt YOU will be the load barer.

even if you have 100% automation the plants will not grow themselves. Someone RESPONSIBLE must
attend them regularly.
