Questions:
So what does every one think, should i be ok by now to start co2 or wait a little longer?????
As I understand it the reason we supplement extra co2 is becuase it is the low point in the equation of water, nutrients, and oxygen for the roots, and light for the green part. What I mean is when we have light blasting at max levels, and we give the girls all the water, oxygen and nutrients they can handle... then the plants can only perform up to a certain level because there isn't the max co2 for them to breath. Adding the extra co2 allows them to process all the light and water/nutes.

That being said, I don't think the plants are performing up to that level yet, so I don't think the extra co2 would do much. Just be extra work.

I would think a good time would be when the buds start up, like week 2 12/12. But I dont think it would hurt to start whenever you want... just might not do much to benefit things.

But that's all my theory, not really based on anything. :bigjoint:

Sounds like allot of great info to me, thanks jig

Was hoping i didn’t have to do it all the way through, only like you said when i start seeing some buds maybe a little before.

From your experience using this kind of co2 setup, how did you run it??

I was thinking wait tell after the first watering of the night(one hour into lights on) so 1hr15mins into lights on turn off my outtake, intake ,and circulating fans and turn on my co2 let that go for 10,15 mins then turn off the co2 and turn everything back on. Then do that three times a night right along with the water, we’ll try to since i have to do it manually for now i might miss a turn or so, Sound good? Any thoughts?

Was my plan but plans can easily be changed? Thinking about it i might just start co2 week three unless i see signs of flowering like pistols.

A few things. You only want to run the co2 during lights ON, that's when the plants need the extra. It would be too much during the night (or at least wasted). Oh, I was rereading, I think that's you plan... lol, you confuse me sometimes, haha.

I would turn off the exhaust fan, but if depending on where the circulation fans are, I might leave them on. The co2 is heavier than the rest of the air, so you want it 'falling' onto the plants.

What I did was have the co2 come out a hose right into the back of one of my small fans. That fan was below the plants aiming up, so hopefully it was blowing the co2 to the leaves where they could use it.

Also be sure not to like lay the hose on the plants and have the co2 come out right onto the plant... it could mess it up. You just want it floating in the air, you know.

Also, a check valve type thing is good to use... so that air cannot get back into the co2 canister/ bottle. If that stuff has access to air it could mold and you don't want mold spores being blown onto your girls.

Yea i confuse allot of people, my self included.

The way i setup the tubing (pictures above) i am hoping the co2 will fall down on the plants.

From what you said i might end up leaving my air circulating fan on and intake dpending on how big the fan leaves and how many leaves i have, it should keep all the moving fresh air on the bottom of the canopy and the co2 can come down right on top of it all.

Alright let’s start week 2 wooo hoo !!!

All the plants grew a 1.5'' and lots of new growth, really happy how the plants are looking.

Moved the plants around, A, and C are now under the MH light. Moved B, and D under the HPS. D(plant) looks crazy, looks like the best plant in the room a little taller than all the others(guessing because of the MH).

Roooooots dam roots already are coming out the bottom of pots yikes, not sure how that’s going to be since i still have 8 weeks to go i don’t want them to start growing out in the table, then they would be in the light. I might have to fill up the table with pellets, didn’t really want to but shit roots are already coming out the bottom dam Root Excel works great. The chart tells me to use it for three weeks in flowering and for the entire time of veg., i believe that’s a waste. Seeing what this can do only two weeks is really needed in veg, i don’t believe you really need it in flowering.

Water Check:
PPM - 580
EC - 1.1
PH - 5.6
Temp - goes from 68 to 76

Foliar Spray:
Magic Green - Going to start spraying two times a week Mondays, Fridays. Sprayed them in the first week one time.

Rooms Atmosphere:
Temps - Right before lights on - 71 - Lights on for a hour - 81 - Room got up to 84 max temp

Humidity - Right before lights on - 45% - Lights on for a hour - 35% - Rooms Humidity got down to Low 27%

Height
A - 6.5'' B - 6.5'' C - 5.5'' D - 6.5''
Lights lowered, 18'' above plants

If the first week is a sign of things to come... this is going to be a great grow hulk. Those clones are looking great. Real quality, and they look soo damn happy and healthy.

I don't know much about ebbnflow, but I'm almost positive you are going to have to fill in that table somehow... becuase the roots are going to get wild.

Also, if that root excel stuff isn't too expensive, I would use it as long as they told me. More roots is always good (I think.... maybe they aren't?).

Keep it up bro.... things are looking mighty promising. :bigjoint:

Thanks jig, yea if things just keep getting better i am going to be very happy in the end.

Yea i have seen both ways in the ebbaflow some just leave them in the pots with pellets nothing in the flow table, but they probably don’t have the problem i am having, maybe some others will have some insight if they’re using the system. Then filling up the flow table with pellets with no pots just using the table as a huge pot.

I wanted to be able to move the plants so they get both lights so that’s why i went this way, would be a pain to move them around if the table was full but it can be done.

No you’re so right more roots and the healthy means big buds so i might see after a while do a comparison between 2 weeks or 5 weeks with root excel. It is expensive and i thought it was going to last a long time but not if i am using it the way i am, the H&G line not cheap

Well my first harvest did not taste the best, nute burn, light burn or somthing. Whatever thats in the past and we learn from are mistakes, well i try to.

So had about 2oz left and dont really smoke it much when i can get meds that acutaly help me, sooo i just screw it lets just make some hash :-P.

Took me two full days to make, let the water sit longer then had to, had stuff to do. Then drying final stage i turned off the light for a few hours and took care of some stuff. Last time i just left the house and left the light on stuipd me it was dry by the time i got back and it was a pain to remove from the wax paper.

From 2oz of burnt nugs i got 1.3 grams, not sure it thats good or not, dont really care i got hash :-P :weed:

Anyways here are some pics
Hope you enjoy

Sounds good Whitediesel, always looking to learn more and help other.

You should start a journal, if you have not yet would like to see how you got it setup over there.

Been looking up allot of info to on the Blue Dream most of what i found was just repeating over and over again, just different websites so after that i am thinking talking to others that grow the same strain is the best way to go. There is a Thread Called Blue Dream if you don’t know about it already take a look, lots of good info in there and good people to help you out.

As for the mega garden its good pros and cons. Not sure about all of them but from what i noticed so far.

Left 2 gallons of water in the res when you drain from the water gage tube. You have to take your plants out and tilt it up to get all the water out. They should have put it on the bottom, but maybe having two gallons of your old water mixed with a new batch is a good think (still learning) wouldn’t think so though. Before you start filling it up with water and putting plants in it, wrap your res tank in insulation or make a table that will cover the bottom of the mega garden(water res)and sit level with the top of the mega garden(hard to explain). Res temps get high if you don’t do something about covering the res or adding a water chiller to it. Dealing with res temps right now. Other than that it works great i can fit 5x5 pots in there i believe the max i can fit is 15.

Hope that helps you out, there was another guy that has two mega gardens, that i was trying to pick his brain about them, so if i get any more insight i will keep you updated.

thanks meangreen, yea lots of time and lots more to spend working with the girls in them but its all worth it

Going to check out your grow if you have a journal or thread going but wanted to ask you here how long have you had your megagarden and have you seen any negatives to it that you had to overcome ??
sorry man havent been around, but no i got no journal :-(, but ive had my

maga garden for 2years now and im still useing it, as for negatives: dont

pick it up if its heavy because the edge will crack other then that it

works fine..

Right on great info thanks ............

..... i was lifting it on it side to try and drain all of the res, so i will stop doing that might end up with a floor of water.

Put some Foam Insulation with reflective tape on it all around my mega garden to keep the light out of the res area and to keep the res temps down working great, Res temps stay under 70 now.

Looking very nice! I use the root excel too and stopped after the first week of flower..but I did veg for 30 days. Anyway, it is expensive shit and works great, but I don't know how necessary it is during flower. I also have a 50 gal res that I go though every other feeding(DTW) so it really goes quick.
Plants look good though man and your set-up looks very tight.

Yea that root excel is not cheap but it does work wonders. I plan to only veg for 2 weeks, well thats when the clones are getting roots and growing strong so its not really a veg time.

Thanks #1Raiderfan420, glad to have you abored.

Should see a update today or tomorrow we will see how things work out.
