I posted in advanced tehcniques, but no one seems to know/be answering...maybe someone here knows.

If, I have plant A and plant B.

Are the formulas:

Pollen of A (X) Female of B = Pollen of B (X) Female of A ???

Essnetially does it matter which plant I choose to donate the pollen from, and which one I choose to develop the seeds, as long as the strains are the two I want? I am assuming that the pollen and the female of each respective plant contain the same dna. (ex. Female of A and Pollen of A both contain the same genetic makeup, and contribute the same genes to the hyrbid equation...at least on paper?)

Help me out oh wise ones! Thanks!

Well as everyone here knows I am no botany expert but if it works like in animals the pollen is not all of a single genetic type but instead has many different dna mixes with similar characteristics, same for the female plants. So not only will you get something unique for a female x and pollen y compared to female y and pollen x, you will get something different from two female x and two pollen y.

So here was my original plan. Female Hyrbid # 1 (H1: its the hybird I made last growing season, and saved seeds from), crossed with male Northern Light pollen.

However, I ran into problems with my Hyrbid seeds, as during the second run this year, (since my hybrids are autoflowers I had time to germinate again) my seeds decided not to germinate or die... F*CK since I have no more of my hybrid seeds left, nor any of the parent plants (i planted the last hope today. my last hyrbid seed).

I was hoping that by flipping the equation ( I collected the pollen from my male hybrid autoflowers) and crossing with Female Northern Lights next season, I would yield the same results as my original plan, even if with a slight skew (but similar).

SO now you tell me, that won't work??? Dammit... I wonder how strong the autoflower phenotype is in the Hybrids I made, and if it will cross to my H2's. :(

Thanks for shedding some like Desert!
