Hydro Ebb and Flow, 600w mh lights, how long to veg

Ya my res is the same. I barely stir by hand, water moves around so much. And I use sun leaves rocks. It slow releases silica which is pretty nice. I also like how every chunk of rock is a different shape. Makes for nice pockets for the roots to grow in. It doesn't float like hydration does too.

Ill try to get some pics of the harvest from the table up, im always on here on my phone and its kinda of a pain to get pics uploaded. Harvest was a little over a half pound of good, dense quality, and a whole bunch of lowers for bho. Im estimating 10-15 grams of bho.

Hi Guys!

The grow is going awesome and the stretch is finally starting to slow down. One significant difference was that I changed hoods. I was running a 600w cool tube with little reflector wings coming off either side. I just went to a Sunlight Blockbuster air cooled square type reflector hood which covers a 4x4 area. Maybe it was just timing but....., once I switched out hoods it seems the stretching stopped immediately. I am still going to use the cool tube but only in the vegetation room.

I also spent the last week constructing another grow room (5ft x 10 ft x 7ft h) . Just took clones off of the above mentioned grow and they're under t-5's as of this morning.

The new room will be for vegetation and growing vegetables. All E&F, vegetable table is 3x3, lettuce table is 1x3, and new vegetation table is 2x2.

Lessons during this grow decreased the size of the veg table with a limit of 6 plants. This is the first time out with clones so I'm pretty excited. I'll let them veg until current grow is over (six more weeks) and then into the flowering room.

I hooked up a 5kw furnace and am circulating the air between the veg room and the flowering room (size 4ftx6ft). I will be adding timed 12" shutters and doing a fresh air exchange every hour. Just have to figure out how to insulate the shutters and make them air tight.....

I'll get some pics tomorrow. Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Hi IlleGal,
Good to hear from you. I knew you were busy on your new room. What ambition...or shall I say...no rest for the wicked! Looking forward to the pictures. I put my little cold stratification project into the germination tray. 11 year old seeds...will they germ???

Wow and to think I've been hiding inside out of the cold lol. My girls are being neglected, its a cold walk to the shed lol. I was already to ask a bunch of questions about your shutter but I'll wait for the pics lol. How are you rooting clones? I need to find a reliable way now that i cant throw them in jiify pucks. Pretty sure that would add some dirt to the res lol. Looking forward to seeing how things are coming!! Glad the stretch is over. The new reflector works nice huh. I am going to put one up as well but the things massive and i can see a bloody forhead on the corners of the one i have, i have to turn off the big lights when i walk in. :(

With you at the helm J.D. I know they will germ!!! That is exciting to germinate 11 year old seeds. Lets see, 2003 huh?? Not a bad year, did a vacation in Jamaica for three weeks during January and tried every Jamaican strain I could get my hands on. When did you plant those babies? I'll get on the pics tomorrow. I finished the shutters today along with the ventilation fan for the lights. Great hearing from you as well!!!

What's shakin Dawg!!! Ha, I have a long walk to my room as well!!! lol I planted twelve clones yesterday and the Medusa is doing awesome while the White Widow is circling the drain!!! I won't give up though, propped up the wilting WW clones this evening with long toothpics so we'll see in the morning. I put them in rockwool cubes, used a dome, I just have a feeling they'll bounce back. The Medusa are like statues, a tough plant! So six Medusa and six WW...... I also trimmed the heck out of the remaining plants. I didn't hit the corners yet but when I entered the room this morning I smacked it right on the side with my forehead (Ouch!!)! Nothing gave way but my brain!!! When is your grow over Dawg???

Mornin' IlleGal,
Sounds like things are going good. Even making clones for your next run. Hope they all make it. My WWs clones fairly easily once I got my technique down. Going on day three for my antique seeds, If they were essentially dead, no amount of good technique will save them. This is a trial run for some seeds that are even older.

That Jamaica trip sounds great. Did you visit Bob Marley's house? I'm a big reggae fan. I wonder if some of the ganja you smoked there was Lambsbread? Isn't that the classic Jamaican weed from the 60s?

@Waterdawg...On the Jiffy pucks in Ebb and Flow. I actually did use Jiffy pucks for cloning for a few runs and had no problems. I bought one of those filter bags to put around the pump to protect it from clogging in case some particulate got down to the res. Eventually I switched to rockwool cubes for my hydro plants. I found that they worked just as well as the peat for cloning. Didn't change my technique qt all.

Later,
JD
