Hydro farm commercial 75 humidifier

I picked up the 75 pint today for the specific use of being able to directly plumb. Can someone give me a direction on how to do so? I have water coming into my room readily available but the connection on the humidifier looks like this.


also, the instructions are very vague they say connect to a 6mm or a garden hose it also has the gravity fed option which I’m not interested in. The problem is there is not a garden hose fitting on the machine?

That grey thing is a plug, remove it and connect a piece of tubing into the female hole. That ring you push in as you pull the plug or tubing out.

It's the same type connector thats used on most RO filters and such, push connect. That little ring gets tighter inside as it pulls out, gripping the tubing. If you push it in (can't do it under pressure), hold the ring flush against the fitting while you slide the tubing out then it won't grip it and you can easily pull the tubing out of the fitting. They make little plastic C-clips that will slide in behind the ring making sure it stays tight.

Do you have a hose bib or what sort of connection are you trying to connect to? They make fittings that screw on the hose bib and you can push connect the tubing. Commonly sold with RO filters and such.

I have a supply line coming into the room and connecting to a garden hose so I was thinking of tapping into that somehow

This will be good information because the RO system is supposed to be delivered next week

This is just an example of the adapter for the hose bib. Just screw it on where a garden hose would connect to cold water.

You probably want one of the 4 way splitters for the hose bib, then you can connect the humidifier to one port, the RO filter to one port and a hose or whatever to either of the remaining ports.


Always make sure to open and close the valves like once a month to keep them from sticking open. They make nicer ones that are all metal, brass or bronze, the little plastic knobs break off the cheap ones of you don't "exercise" the valves often enough to keep them from getting sticky.

Thats something you should do with all your homes valves honestly. Even just once a year, go close and re-open the valves on stuff like your main supply, hot water heater in and out. If you don't "exercise" the valves then they can get corroded and stuck open causing bigger issues down the road.

I’ll definitely take all the advise headed to Lowe’s tomorrow to pick a few things up. Wonder if they would have that 1/4 inch quick connect to 3/4 hose. It reminds me of shark bite connections

When I looked at Lowes / Home Depot they have a compression fit variety to transition to the 1/4 inch hose, uses the flare nut. If you do go that route you probably want to get the little brass inserts that keep the tubing from collapsing and the poly rings instead of the brass one that comes with it. This isn't my first rodeo lol. I recommend getting the quick connect one from online.
