I just got some Ph up and down off ebay alittle while ago.

It is where you fill a test vial half-full of nutrient solution and measure the ph of it.
Does this stuff wok for controlling soil Ph too? -Other than hydroponiclly?
Im using coco for substrate. If im using all this nutrient solution to discover a base Ph, do I just use however much nutrient solution of whats in the test vial to feed my plants? I just dont really get the concept of using this Ph kit in soil. Can someone tell me how?
