Hydroton

How often do you flood a system using hydroton as a medium ???? I know i only had to hit the rockwool slabs 4x a day but from what I'm reading the rocks don't retain the water as long. Anyone running one ???? I can go top drip or flood & drain in containers or not. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Have a perrrrfect strain for sog and am going to go from saphgum and perlite to hydro with it. I already have the rock just wondering best way to use em. Thanks.

with rockwool man. something that retains a little bit of moisture. your gonna have to flood every half hour or so if your just using clay pellets

but since your transplanting in. I guess you don't have much of an option.

...I use hydroton fine. im useing a rapid rooter, not rockwool though.

I only use the small rockwool cubes to root my clones. Once the ten i have in the dome now root I plan on going to the grow rocks as opposed to larger cubes and then slabs. I PLAN on placing the small roote cubes into the hydroton and prob go top drip. Question is how often do i need to set the timer to water the medium. Will the rocks dry out in an hour or in 4 hours ?????

It depends on how you are growing with Hydroton. In waterfarms some people let them drip 24/7 but with flood and drain its like 8 times a day for 30 mins. The FAQs should help you out!
